|1982 Subaru Brat GL *SALE PENDING* - $2000 (Near Downtown Knoxville)
Before I tell you about the car, I have a word of advice for anyone ever posting anything, anywhere: Write it on word and save it first. One wrong mouse click, and thirty minutes of typing can vanish! That being said, time to rewrite the description...
Up for sale is my dream car, a vintage 1982 Subaru Brat with the original paint and only 116880.9 miles, although it might have another 10 miles on it by Sunday evening. I have it registered as an antique and take it out on Saturdays or Sundays so it doesn't sit too long without running. I spent over three years searching for a Brat in this condition, and that was seven or eight years ago. I am the second owner and was planning on being the last, but due to getting engaged and buying a house that needed massive renovations, it seems that there will get to be a third owner, and it just might be you.
I will try and put in as much information about the car/truck as I can, but due to losing 30 minutes on the aforementioned boo-boo, I will need to be brief, many projects to get done on the house while it is nice out.
This is not a perfect car, but for 28 years old, it is probably in the top 90% of Brats I have ever seen, and probably the best one you will find at this price. It has a little rust, but for an 82 Subaru, I would concider it minor. The passenger taillight is cracked due to a well hidden branch in an otherwise "soft" looking bush. Someone was also kind enough to steal the passenger door molding while I was in a store, but the moldings are pretty easy to find since the coup, wagon, and brat all have most of the same parts. It has the hidden 3rd headlight for offroading, but I think it needs the connections cleaned. The driver side seat has wear on it, but doesn't look bad and is still comfortable. Interior is in good shape other than the seat.
I know if I could spare a day or two to do some maintenance on it, it would sell for much more, but alas, the house has put me in a huge time crunch. Hopefully I haven't made it sound worse than it is. I know I could go outside, start it up, and make it to Atlanta with no problems. I know I am forgetting a lot of what I had originally written, but really need to get back to work, the table saw is calling and only a few hours of sun left. On the bright side, if you are looking at this, you probably already know something about Brats and how hard a nice one is to find. I get comments on it every time I take it out.
Pros: Low milage, original gold paint, "fun roofs" (yes, that is the official term), hard to find GL model with hidden 3rd headlight, new front axles, and just a great little vehicle.
Cons: Broken tail lamp (around $25), missing door molding (around $25), needs some maintenence, but nothing major that I know of.
I will try and post more later tonight or tomorrow if I can make time.
Serious inquires only please.
I can be reached between 10:00am and 11:00pm at (865)776-6899
Thank you, Brian.
ps, I know I am forgetting all sorts of stuff, but this is a great Brat for the price.
