Based on numbers, is the RNS 315 better or worse than the RNS 510 it replaces? Also is the 9W7 better or worse than 9W3??

They keep making standard features for 2010 options for 2011 such as the rcd-510 and the MFSW.
Next year wheels in general will be an option. Car will be delivered on jacks.

I can't believe I missed out on the keyless entry! Even the 9w7 being standard. The car is probably more expensive since that is something standard I'm guessing. What's the deal with the Nav going to a lower model? Wouldn't that be a downgrade?

I don't like the looks of the RNS 315. There are videos of it on YouTube.

Looks like they got rid of the touch screens with all the complains about slowness. I love mine though.

Is it just me, or did they make the display screen smaller in size?

They're still touch screen, at least according to the YouTube videos showing operation. Not sure about that second one you posted though, probably not.

The Blutooth is better, as it has the best of 9W2 and 9W3 with voice control and audio streaming.
The base GTI with the 18" Detroits standard is supposed to have a base price within $50 of the 2010. The Autobahn is supposed to have a substantial price cut. Final pricing is not yet out, so grain of salt here folks, but these are the rumors.
Hmmmm. I am liking these changes.

Paul,
Is it mandatory to get NAV or autobahn package if my car is:
-6MT
-cloth
-Sunroof
-HIDs
-Dynaudio.
Also i didnt see Dynaudio on the list, would the Premium 8 replace or its the same?

*edit* nevermind, I see you're from Canada. The only thing I see that I don't have that I would want is the hands free Bluetooth.

Yes, I am not thrilled with this, but they are trying to simplify the ordering of all VW models, and I guess this is one of the things that happen....I woulda put them in with the second level GTI...but they are trying, and pricing, standard 18's, standard better bluetooth, etc. Not bad overall.

Slightly smaller. 5" vs 6.5" screen size and without a harddrive.

That radio change seems like a step backwards and in the wrong direction too. Looks like people will be upgrading to the RNS-510's

Canada HAS to follow somehow
Even if the 18" upgrade is not mandatory
Just the bluetooth upgrade is a net cost of $500 so losing my deposit is entirely worth it...

Yes

I'm glad I got a '10.
I got the exact options sheet I wanted, and that didn't include nav or leather.
