Can't find the old Canberra thread post the lovers tiff at Tex HQ so here's a new one. We can ever kick it off with some VW content. Unsubstantiated rumour claims that the silver R32 is owned by a member of the public and that its owner helped bring an end to a Police chase by ramming the old Falcon off the road...

      Nice lunch time entertainment.

Based on the number of police cars, I thought this was something more serious.

While waiting for my lunch at Ginseng after the Falcon was stopped around the other side of the Manuka shops, a bunch of other police cars pulled up a guy in a Subaru Liberty and arrested him straight away. Probably not linked but at the time it looked like they had got a second get away car or something. When the Falcon was being chased, I could have sworn there was only one person in the car driving but apparently 3 people arrested.

      Canberra times article:

Also claims VW driver deliberately blocked the Ford, as there was a pedestrian crossing 2m away...

Good on the Golf guy. I wonder how thats going to play out with insurance. Makes me wonder how I would have reacted in the same sitch.

You would have rammed him aside on your bike.

f*ckin brainless media, if you read the police report they were doing him and his eventual insurance claim a favour by not mentioning it

I dont see how u can make an insurance claim if the local rag is telling everyone you rammed the car intentionally with pics of the car and license plate to boot. Good job boys.

I believe the official police report will read:

"Golf attempting to park, when rammed by getaway vehicle"

Also, wouldn't also an act of heroism, overide any insurance fineprint? (Specifically, saving a human life)

So I want to show off the Clio and drive it along Brindy road again.

Anyone up for a GTG this weekend? Sunday morning might be best, say 10:30am. I could do Saturday instead but I don't know what time yet.

Short-ish notice I know so if next weekend suits better we can do that too/instead.

I could be up for Sunday, although I suspect 10:30 is getting a bit late

I can do earlier no problem at all, was just being friendly to the people who might be out late Sat night which doesn't apply to me because I'm getting old.

      What time suits you better?
