      23mpg and 138mph in the 1/4.

Ugly to behold and hateful to drive, it is not cheap, elegant, comfortable, practical, prestigious, clever, economical, luxurious, well designed, well thought out or, if the rental car I drove in America this year is anything to go by, especially well made either." - Jeremy Clarkson

I haven't read the Autocar version before, it was awesome. I cant imagine what it was like in 1994 to test this car. I keep going back and forth if I'd rather have a F1 or a Koenigsegg as my true dream car.

Amazing car, great articles. Thanks for posting.

They forgot to put the little turbos on the F40 and the Jag.

Even taking into account mid-90s tire technology, the skidpad and slalom numbers of this car in the R&T test have mystified me on a monthly basis (since this is the only car R&T has kept in their performance summary section in the back of the magazine every month since the test was conducted) for over a decade now. Can anybody explain to me how they are so low?

The low numbers and excess understeer have always made me think something wasn't 100% with the car. Maybe the alignment was off. Maybe there was an issue with the tires.

As it was a customer car and not a press car, there's no guarantee the car was in perfect running condition.

Did anyone notice the 13mph difference in trap speed between the R&T and Autocar road tests?

You probably won't be able to read this because the text is too small, but it's better than nothing...

Maybe I should read the whole thing, but does Ron Dennis have one of these beauties in his personal collection?

I don't think I have ever seen any info on his personal cars. I wonder what the Mclaren boss-man drives.

We must summon Peloton. Peloton MUST know. Peloton knows ALL about McLaren F1.

Its the F1 and the F1 alone that makes me want to ignore everything else in my life, make money, and buy one to sleep in every night. Almost two decades later and it still just blows my mind

EVO had that online in (PDF form) of that entire article for free on their website a month ago.

I have it, but I've also found this great link...
