Eh.. a bunch of 500e's/e500's that I drooled over. Too much new stuff for my tastes. I didn't get around too far b/c I'm not overly mobile yet(ankle still). If it's nice I'll come out this weekend.

Lots of good stuff! Thanks for sharing! Man I love Diablos. I used to think the Espada was hideous like bell bottom leisure suits. But it has really grown on me over the years. Funny how time can change your perception. The Lancia Flamina is a handsome car and very underrated especially in the USA.

I would not use a steering wheel club on a DB6. I get that it’s a deterrent to a 12 year old who might try to hot wire your car and take it for a joyride. But a pro will just cut through that $600 Moto Lita with a hacksaw in seconds or just tow the car away. And herein lies the rub of classic car ownership. Many classics are so valuable nowadays you can’t take them many places or use them as you would a modern car for risk of theft or damage. And even if they’re
not super valuable fixing damage can still be a costly PITA that takes a long time and deprives you of enjoyment during prime driving weather. I mean if you’re super rich you can afford to not worry. But even a lot of those rich dudes have strong sentimental attachment and don’t want harm to come to their pride and joy. So they tend to be point A to point A type cars. Or if you stop someplace you don’t let the car out of your sight. When they do those big rallies in Europe they have to hire a cadre of armed security guards to watch the cars so the participants can enjoy dinner.

The Flamina was impeccable - I don't remember if I'd seen it around before, but I started walking after it, very cool boxy Italian design!

Yeah the owner of the DB6 seemed very laid back and was answering people's questions - not stuck up at all. Said he had been working on it for 10 years to get it to this state.

I think I might try to get out tomorrow - anticipating the crowds to be large again with the nice weather forecast.

I think the crowds will be huge given the weather forecast and the fact it's father's day this weekend. I'll probably be there with a friend and my kid in tow. Trying to get there at 6:30am before it becomes too crazy. The large crowds are borderline getting out of hand.

Yeah, immediate swarm of people when he rolled in.

Also, yesterday with all the bro-y Tesla owners ... they were very annoying and causing potentially dangerous situations while they were remotely controlling their cars via their mobile phones ... pulling their cars out unexpectedly from their parking spots into the driving lane as people were walking and cars were driving by. I should have said something to them, not cool.

I went last Saturday for the first time in a few months and noticed cops stationed at near the traffic light watching the exits onto 193. Someone said that they're not letting people leave via the driveway by the farmers market but I didn't notice that myself. I was happy to see the cops and noticed there wasn't nearly as much loud ripping through the gears from people leaving compared to previous visits.

But the cops come at a cost, and near the entrance to Katie's there's a table with a plea for donations to offset the $250/week that Katie's is paying for those cops.

I hope this isn't the beginning of the end of Cars & Coffee there. The situation reminds me of a cruise night I used to go to up in Massachusetts back in the early '90s. It was held at a Chevy dealership and filled the empty field next to the store to the point of overflowing every Tuesday night. The Chevy store decided it was a lot of work to do for free, so they stopped every car entering the field and asked for a $1 donation. In the matter of maybe three weeks it turned into a ghost town.

I don't mind the donation jar (I contributed myself) but if it turns into a mandatory charge I wonder if the car community will support that.

Giving a small donation to see a bunch of nice cars and socialize with like minded people is not a big deal.

I'm a little more upset about that table taking up a prime parking space where some Transformers Camaro or a GT-R could be parked.

Honestly, I would rather donate money to a team that would track the a**holes that ripped out of the meet and make them park across the street every time.

Could we plan an October TLC meeting?

Somewhere around the 26th would be great.

Would not miss a 26th meeting for the world.

I would like to do another Katie's Meet with you guys. This time I could snag one of our SEMA vehicles for the trip.

      Agreed.

And, aren't the misbehavers providing police funding on their own through tickets?

A little off topic - but there's an R and Coffee event at VWOA HQ on Sat Oct 19 w/ Tanner Foust, free registration required: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/r-coffe...term=viewevent

Probably will hit up normal C&C and then go to this.

I'm going in my Corrado! Doing the same thing, going to Katies before and then heading over.

Yup, planning to be up and out tomorrow around 7, then head over to VW HQ at 9.
The Audi National event is also in the area tomorrow, so it might be a packed turnout again... though temps will be almost freezing in the early morning.
