    Thread: Rear Wiper Issue-Wiping backwards?

    1. 02-18-2013 02:17 PM #1
I am having a strange issue with my rear wiper. The wiper is operating 'backwards' as in wiping downwards therefore wiping the hatch rather than the glass. The wipers default position is now on the drivers side rather than passengers. I have tried to reset this manually but it continually reverts back to the incorrect position. Anyone else seen this issue?

So it's parking on the wrong side and wiping upside down?

Have you tried removing the arm from the shaft and reseating it in the correct park spot? In other words, put it on 180° opposite as it is, and it should wipe correctly.

That won't solve the question of what happened and why, but it should wipe the glass and not the hatch.

      BUMP...?

Same exact issue here... as for the above suggestion like OP said you can't re-index it as it just freely spins and will be wrongly oriented the first time you wipe after manually resetting it.

Anybody else had this? Seems like a motor replacement... looking at the ETKA it doesn't seem like a clip or anything that would be separately replaceable

Make sure your fuse isn't in backwards.

instead of flipping the wiper, hold the wiper still and flip the car over.
