So Wookie in the Woods took place this past weekend. And apparently this happened somehow. Waiting for more pictures/possible video. Aonarch, want to chime in?

He was just trying to copy that Chevy Sonic commercial. Classic mix-up.

Not trying to rag on the guy and I hope it can be fixed and he is OK. The lesson for everyone is "drive YOUR limit." He was getting up my rear pretty good (which is ok if it's safe), and then I took that turn really hard and he slid sideways instead. It looked and sounded like the rubber just ran out of traction.

I am sorry for the person who had the off, but this is why I do not go to organized car meets/drives anymore. Its too risky to get lulled into that group euphoria, with something bad being the result.

      Especially on the Dragon.

I'm going to assume the state dug that ditch just for the LOLz. I know, it was for drainage, but let me have my fun.

An R32 understeered into a ditch. Say it isn't so, what about Awd... The dragon is a vicious road. If your unfamiliar angioplasty an experienced driver especially with much stickier tires **** like this happens.

Yep. Unless it is organized as a casual cruise then it simply isn't worth the hassle and risk, especially on public roads.

Go fast at the track where you have controlled one-way traffic, corner workers, and medical help just seconds away.

This. I love US-129, but I don't think I'll go at it again unless it's a Wednesday, 8:00 am in October or so. I'd rather do a track day.

That sucks! Lucky no innocent travelers got hurt or killed due to someone else's poor judgement.

I'd happilly go by myself, or maybe with a good friend who's driving I trust. But it's way too easy to get into the red mist with a group of younger, like-minded drivers.

A few years ago in my Focus ZX3 days, we had a Chicago MINI organized drive out to Jo Daviess County and the surrounding roads of Galena. At the start of the drive, they elected me to lead the "Pack A" fast drivers since I knew the roads. I tend to drive at 8/10ths....fast enough to be fun, but slow enough to have a maneuvering envelope if something unexpected was over the next rise in the road. I pulled them together and told them explicitly "Drive within YOUR limits, pay no attention to the person in front of you." Almost everyone made it, except for one person....she was new, young, and driving a base-mode MINI, and thought her car handled better than mine and could keep up with me. I had a SVT suspension and summer rubber on my ZX3. Her day ended early when she went off the road into a telephone pole. She was fine, her car required thousands of dollars in repair.

The R32, becoming more rare everyday. Now you may be able to ask a premium for an MK4.......
