It's getting there buddy, keep it up! I think you might beat me to the goal of getting them running again. I still have so many decisions to make..
I like that you powder-coated the metal lines, it came out good. I agree that yes, little mismatching things in the bay is not o.k. I had to replace every vacuum hose w/ Blue BMW silicone line (great stuff BTW), having one or two stock black ones would of annoyed me to no end.

Looking good, man! I'd really like to rebuild a G-Lader sometime. I've done manual and auto transmissions and engines, but never a supercharger. Should be fun to do something unique like that.

With the Home Alone gangster movie clips, did you know it was all done special for the movie? I was only mildly surprised to find out that such a perfect bit in that movie was planned pretty intricately: https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood...gangster-movie
I used my 6 years of Mk2 hobbyist training to become an auto tech in 2005, but that makes you not want to work on your car as much. I'm also a VR6 noob in 2018.

Yeah I recently found that out and was quite surprised. Lets make a movie that can play on the tv in our movie. Hollywood right? Go figure.

As for the G lader yeah I was excited to dive into it initially, theres quite a few how-to posts online about it that I can use as a guide, but lack of time recently is what made me take the car elsewhere for all the labor it needs. So till its running the only work Im doing is clicking checkout on everything I purchase for it. Im not really experiencing that rewarding feeling of finishing it myself but to me its more important it gets finished regardless of wether or not Im doing the work or someone else.

Yeah man I located a seller based in the US with a different sort of kit of hoses, it has the two I need, bought that so now Ill have a couple spare hoses which is good in case future issues arise.

Got a couple more things squared away this weekend. Ordered an LED H4 kit for the headlights, a Walbro 255lph pump kit for the mk3 tank, model number was GSS340. Ive read around that itll fit with a thicker foam around it. Ill get back to you guys in that. Also ordered an intercooler. Tried to get Mishimoto on board for a custom version of their J line universal intercooler but they wouldnt bite so I went the generic route based on size. Looking forward to seeing those pipes in the bay all nicely welded and shinin. Been under a lot of stress with this build lately cant wait to see it come together.

Did a little research and ended up ordering a Hikari branded kit off amazon. Im still skeptical on LEDs and I was going to take the HID route as I have in the past but the LEDs have less bulk to them and a lot of praise so I figured Id give the ones just under $50 a shot and I ended up narrowing it down to morimoto(dont remember their price though) and Hikari and Techmax. The hikari has a little larger customer base online but they are said to have louder fans on them. Personally I dont think the fans is what Ill be hearing with this engine built the way it is and a 2.5 piping exhaust lol.

Forgot to mention, mishimoto was not on board for a one off intercooler like I said BUT I did order a 12 slim fan from them that will be mounted over the brand new G60 radiator. I know some of you will want to see pictures of how that will get mounted up. Ill happily post any new updates as they come along. Goodnight fellas. Long week ahead.

Guess who came out to play today

Quick update, I did paint the BBS wheels like I said I would, but they just did not turn out well. Even for a beater set up I expect more so I swapped the Yokohamas onto the other wheels I have today. Check our the teaser shots.

      And another for good measure!

Going to order a couple things to get the wheels to sit just right but its a great starting point.

Nothing better than seeing a TT box arrive! Those guys are the best, and know me on a first name basis. Good choice on the Borla straight-thru muffler.

I assume your making the push to get it completed for Mk2mayday? I hope so I would love to see this in person.

Yeah for sure Im actually planning on debuting this build at mk2mayday. If all goes well and Ive got enough miles on it to be confident in a long trip Ill also make the drive to alpine vagfair.
