Truth. Different temperatures, too. Don't remember the exact numbers, but the second frying is higher than the first to crisp them up and sorta de-saturate them of some of the oil after the first temperature basically cooks them through. Nothing compares to hand cut French fries.

^ Nope, Belgian. Iirc, French refers to the cut. Everyone else calls them fried potatoes, papas fritas, pommes frites, etc. British chips are the same thing, but the cut is usually a little different.

The "Nope" was for further up, y'all fast as Little Red Corvettes today.

Also truth on the mayo/Belgian connection, but that's done elsewhere in Europe. My Spanish grandparents thought that combo was a delicacy, both homemade, and it kinda was/is.

I think I already mentioned it here, but they told us to T/W last week - which was downright shocking to me. Unfortunately, they don't have all of our vital servers configured for the VPN yet, so I'm pretty much sitting idle and responding to emails until we can actually do our work...

      So drinking. Yes please.

I heard that in addition to the cut it was because they’re from the French speaking part of Belgium?

Working 12-16h shifts here and a cold beer after each has been amazing. Haven't slammed a beer in decades, but did the other night. Next ones will be with y'all in mind. Stay safe, this thing is real and bad.

^ Oh, I'd looove a breakfast beer, especially the ever elusive Yuengling here out West, with an omelette and hashbrowns, but starting work later today. Maybe weekend. But, for you? Cheers!

I used to work 7pm-7am Fri, Sat, Sun. breakfast and a beer on Monday morning at 7:30am while catching on the weekend's F1 race was always fun.

RN here and I would do that same schedule when I was in the ICU then alternate T/W/Th 6 months at a time. Breakfast was always fun after that 3rd night whether with the family, or crew, or just a can of beer from naked wife at the door while the kid was still asleep. Cath lab and days now, though it's the labor pool (aka cess pool) to fight the 'vid now.

I do agree with the dadjokememe of there being somewhat of a baby-surge 9mo from now. Couples who are teleworking or not teleworking, have far more time to themselves and around each other without commuting, sports watching (or kid toting). There is only so much snacking, netflixing, or fighting you can do.

pizzarabbitcat you up for irish twins already?

On the upcoming baby boom, I'm gonna lose it when I hear the kid's names.

mom: "This is Cody, we spelt it differently."
      "oh? how?"
mom: "It's C-O-v-i-D. The "vi" is silent. Like 'whores d'evours', ya know?"

I ran all my errands over the weekend, and really have no reason to leave the house. I could have breakfast beers, mimosa, or maybe a finger or two to snort while I work.

I've rarely shy away from some day drinking, but this is every day. I gotta draw the line somewhere.
