Thread: End of an Era - Cayman Sold

    1. 03-11-2014 09:40 PM #1
Well it was a fun 7 years, but the Cayman has been sold. It has gone to a very good home and will be enjoyed by its new owner.

It's funny to think it was the one constant through so much change. 4 different living accommodations - Apartment, Loft, Condo and House. And 4 different jobs.

Anyway, anyone who's had a car they loved for a long time can probably relate, it's a weird feeling to have it gone.

In its place... something has been ordered and will be arriving in 75 days.

Ok, but seriously... hope you enjoy whatever the new ride is. I'm sure we'll be seeing pictures of it microseconds after you take delivery.

I've been looking for a used Cayman. I'd probably would have paid you more than what you got. Oh well.
      Yarp or narp?

How are you going to park that train in your back yard?

I think the OP is going to play the "guess what I ordered" game...
      Hopefully it was something interesting.

I'm saying either a base 911 or another Cayman.

I feel your pain Hawk. I sold an E39 I had for 8 years. It was pretty tough to watch it drive away with some other person behind the wheel.

I'm definitely calling base 991. Too much looking for used ones, too much critiquing of the 981's looks.

Looking forward to seeing it posted, Hawk.

(I still don't like that design for the garage/driveway.)

Haha, yup the only thing more personal to sell is a motorcycle. You never really recover from that.

Yeah, or poorly built driveway. Can I just pulls those stones out and add more sand/gravel and put them back in or is it more complicated than that?

That should work. It can be a pain to get them out.

I'm betting 100 Pesos on a lightly optioned black on black 991 with 7 speed manual. Congrats Hawk!

Haha, yeah Ducati sold back in 2008. Wish I still had it, but also happy to have ridden 12 years without crashing.

I sold mine a month ago.

I miss it, but on to better things. Dunno what the "better" thing is yet, but I'm sure it'll be happening sooner rather than later.

      To the next one.

      Congrats on the 911.

I was also going to comment on the driveway. You might want to have it repaired correctly. Simply pulling the pavers and putting more sand underneath will help a little(albeit temporarily) but you should fix it correctly the first time. Or is it second time since its a fix... Anyway once you start pulling it up you'll realize it isn't just 5 or 6 bricks per wheel that are sinking. Cant you call Mike Holmes and cry? Isn't that how it works in Canada?
