Sadly, after over a decade of ownership, my TDI Caddy looks like it needs to be retired because of rust issues. So I'm kinda in the market for another ride to swap the TDI into. Prefer a mk1 or mk2, prefer it to be diesel as well, as little rust as possible at least nothing structural, and running or not running is fine - though if it's not running I think you'd have to be on Maui. I also have a 91 GLI 2.0 16v MK2 that I'd be willing to trade for the right car. Have done a lot of work to it; control arms, tierods, clutch, BFI light weight flywheel, HD motor mounts, tune up, deleted AC and PS, converted to serp belt, O2 sensor, tires, new rare euro steering wheel, fixed abs issue, and more I'm sure all within the past year. Has cherry powered grey Recaros and is sitting on Corrado Sebrings. Needs suspension but not critical, needs front strut mounts, leak/crack at muffler fixed, and I haven't been able to tension the serp belt properly for some reason so it chirps sometimes and slips in the rain occasionally. Other than that it runs well, is dependable, and gets good fuel economy.
I know the early watercooled market out here isn't the greatest but if you've got something please let me know.
