My phone has Qi charging so I picked up one of these.

I've talked to lots of people with the 1.0 and that have loved it. The wait until April will suck though.

Mounts the phone securely and at a comfortable sightline. I've bought four of them for gifts, too.

So I've had my nGroove for about 9 months and the plastic where the screw tightens against is spreading and it no longer is snug. Found the Koomus CD-AIR, much superior product. No screw, but a lock lever with several different rubber clips for CD slot widths. Snug, very well built and grips the phone wonderfully. Worth the $20 on Amazon!

My Kenu Airframe isn't cutting the mustard in the GTI. Had shyed away from Proclip since I had to alter my 2009 Miata but now read about the new models and was sold.

      Ordered this:

Have one in my truck and like it so much, as does my wife, that we've got one to put in her car as well.

$11.95 at Walmart for the basic stick on mount, other options available online.

This is the one I have. A great and simple mount.

So I just got this for my MK7 GTI. Only thing I don't like so far is going into 5th your hand will probably hit the mount. I am using a universal mount since I have a case on my phone, and its a bit annoying....

Thanks for the feedback...I have iPhone 6 and no case, did the iPhone 6 mount. We'll see, I'll update with thoughts on it. If that's the only thing you don't like then we're good. It's close to the MDI, that's why I chose it.

Based on my research it looks like this comes as an air vent mount. Did you just cut the back off and use an adhesive to mount it like that?

no cutting required. the rubber "skin" can be pulled off. that exposes a screw that holds the vent clip. when you take off the vent clip you're left with a metal plate, 4 rare earth magnets and the rubber skin. just place your 3M double-sided tape on that rear metal plate and mount it on a surface.

eBay $3 magnetic mount for me. If it breaks after 2 years, just buy another one...
