Peter: Hi. Here's the wiring arrangement for the stock-standard anti-dazzle mirror in a Golf mk7

As you can see there are basically four wires as follows:
      1. Battery Positive - This comes from fuse position #34 on the C fuse box (via the rotary light switch). The "C" fuse box is the one on the lower LHS of the steering wheel for those car that have the steering wheel on the wrong side!!
      2. Battery Negative - This is also taken from the rotary light switch
      3. Input signal from the front interior light - this ensures that the antidazzle mirror doesn't dim when the interior light is switched-on. I guess that you leave this wire out if you didn't want this function
      4. Input signal from the reversing lights (also via the BCM)- again, this ensures that the antidazzle mirror doesn't dim when the car is reversing

      Hope this what you wanted
      Cheers
      Don

Tom: isn't it strange? I have an auto-Dimming mirror on my mk7 and I don't like it! It never dims correctly (IMO). I've fixed the problem on my car by placing a piece of black electrical tape over the light detector on the windshield side of the mirror. When I want the mirror to dim, I simply switch on the button on the mirror and it dims to the max level. Very low tech, but effective!

      Thanks for the quick reply.

Today, I will install the mirror.

I hope it will work as it should.

Peter: I can recall that someone here put-up a copy of the BCM pin-out some time ago, but I can't find the link now- sorry. Anyhow, here's some info that I put together last year. It might be useful. Please be aware that the information in the table is for an ROW model
