      From IGN:

Sony and Polyphony Digital have revealed Gran Turismo Sport, a VR-compatible racing game with a beta is coming in early 2016. Two FIA championships will run in the game -- the Nation's Cup, in which you represent your country, and the Manufacturer Fan's Cup, where you'll play for your favorite car company.

Series champions will be awarded their prize alongside real-world FIA champions.

      Here's the official description:

Building on its legacy as the most realistic and accessible driving simulator, GT Sport has partnered with the FIA to push the boundaries of racing games. In addition to everything you'd expect from a GT, the team at Polyphony and the FIA are introducing an online racing series that will be recognised alongside real world motor racing by the FIA.

Previously, it was revealed that Gran Turismo 7 was in development for 2015 or 2016. A port for Gran Turismo 6 was "in mind" at Polyphony as well.

I can't believe they waited so long to release a gt game on ps4.
      signatures are annoying, right?

That was rather underwhelming. Namely the 50% that seemed dedicated to photo-mode (which I understand is popular, but it's a damn race game...sorta). Looks like they stuck to the GT formula instead of tackling PCars and Assetto Corsa etc. with proper racing content. I'm sure it'll be plenty polished and will sell millions of copies - I don't imagine they're all too worried about that.

Graphics looked a bit flat, but I'm sure it's still a little early.

      They didn't wait.

Like other GT games, it just took forever to develop.

One thing that I'm slightly interested is the official support for Playstation VR.

the cars look fantastic but the environments, as usual, look sterile and very dated.

Lets hope it's not like gt5 prologue.... Ya....knock on wood there.

Then again VR with GT could be really cool thou. But knowing Sony, they probably gonna ask you to shell out another 500 for ps 4.5 for proper VR support.. Ya great.

Miss Daisy might not do all her own work and rub her car with a diaper, but she also wasn't a flatbrim bro who hoped boosted VTAK would make women jump into the car naked at 50mph.

And people complain about cheating and technical advantages in real motorsport...

      (loses position) "OMGLAG HAXXORS!"

There is already a decent amount of crossover from the Gran Turismo academy or whatever the computer game talent system is. A couple of the guys who ran at LeMans in the failed Nissan last year were graduates of the video game academy system. Definitely hasn't let most of the drivers hop into quality seats but some of them are doing okay.

Tell me how it will be better than iRacing?

      http://www.iracing.com/live/

EA was the official license holder for all Porsche cars in all gaming platform for the last decade, does it mean EA had made the best racing titles with Porsche cars for the last decade? There were some official FIA WRC titles developed every year, NON of them are better than a non-official rally title called Dirt Rally. These FIA licenses for racing games just mean they are making $$ together. GT was awesome long ago without these FIA crap.

Tell me which FIA official game you have played were good?

Lucas Ordonez (I think he was the first Academy winner) has been racing with Nissan in the GTR GT3 car at Nürburg (VLN and N24) for 4 or 5 years by this point. Haven't heard much about other winners.

A couple of guys have run in Continental Sports Car Challenge, and like I mentioned some were in the Nissan LMP effort. Don't think anyone's been a series champ etc. Nissan yanked their rather hopeful 370Z cars from touring a little while ago as well.

Lucas also had real world racing experience before winning the GT academy. Some of the other winners did compete and to my knowledge had no real world experience.

I am.hopong GTS is going to be great. I dont mind the lack of dynamic time/weather either because I prefer stable rock steady performance. Hope we find out some.stuff at E3 next week

      Licensing is a joke.

Not your intention, but I do think console racing is better than PC racing just for the fact that everybody is on the same system.
And many people don't have a comfortable PC desk gaming setup for a wheel and pedals, while the console/TV place seems to be perfect for that.

Jann Mardenborough has been racing since winning 2011 in the EU GT Academy. Has been to Le Mans , raced in GT3, F3, GP3, GP2, now in GT300 in Super GT and Super Formula

Wolfgang Reip who won the EU one in 2012 raced for the RJN in GT3 for Nissan, got dropped by Nissan for this season but Bentley picked him up to race for them in Blancpain GT3 series. He will be the first GT Academy winner to race for a team outside of Nissan after his GT Academy run. He was also part of the team that won Bathurst 12 hours, along with another GT Academy winner Florian Strauss and a Nismo Pro driver.

Bryan Heikotter, won 2011 US GT Academy, is now racing for Nissan in Pirelli World Challenge. But he was also a multiple time SCCA Solo National champ before he won the competition.
