Ok. But why is the customer detailing his loaner?

      That’s exactly the point.

      Why?

Is The Chinese Tesla Model 3 Better Than The U.S.-Made Version?

      NOV 11, 2019 at 8:49AM

      By: Gustavo Henrique Ruffo
This reviewer definitely thinks so. And he owns a made in U.S. car to compare both.

Chinese journalist Yan Chang says the Tesla Model 3 made in China is a miracle. Not only because the factory was not even there on January 7th, when Elon Musk laid its cornerstone: his central allegation is that the Chinese Model 3 is better than the American one. And Chang has strong arguments to support that.

The first one is that he is a Tesla Model 3 owner himself for some time already, which gives him a reliable comparison basis. Secondly, Tesla provided him with information that supports the Chinese version is better in terms of water and sound insulation. It would also not have the same manufacturing defect the American version has, but what would Chang be referring to?

Probably just depends on the service center and availability. I've only taken my car in once, and they had switched to Enterprise rather than doing loaners directly, but all of the Enterprise loaners were Model S. *shrug*

Or Model S and X owners get Tesla loaners if possible and Model 3 owners either get Enterprise or Uber credits. With so many more cars on the road now, I'm sure it is much tougher for Tesla to give out loaners to everyone.

Could be. I know when I took my Golf R in for service, all I got was a shuttle ride in a minivan from a really shady dude skeeving on the women in the van. Needless to say, I used my own "uber credits" to get back to the dealership to retrieve my car.

TBH I was pleasantly surprised to find out I got a loaner at all. I think people expect this of higher-end marques, but it's not like there's some kind of paperwork you sign that magically grants it to you.

But of course, people will compare one brand's service to another's, and they'll certainly be pissed if a benefit they used to get gets taken away.. even if they never had a right to 'expect' it in the first place.

Thanks for the link to the Bloomberg article/survey. The info graphics in that article are pretty cool.

Model S is #8. To the well discussed topic of if Model 3 is cannibalizing on Model S sales I'd love to know the average age of those cars being traded in and whether they were bought new or not. Given the price bracket of all the other cars in the top 10 my guess it's used Model S owners trading in for a new Model 3.

This is getting nuts. The worlds best speed bargain at $50k. 0-60 in 2.9 now!
