Driving southbound on US27 a driver lost control of his Ford Mustang and ran over the median almost hitting us. #dashcam #vantrueN2PRO #FL #US27 This happened on 12/11/2019. The date on the video is not accurate.

Do you think that other car is totaled too? Just curious what happens to cars that get toasted but not burnt out.

If the repair estimate is over 70% of the replacement cost then it's totaled. Insurance covers even basic dents and paint damage so fire is for sure a covered event. My guess is the "victim" car is totaled too, to be honest. Heat damage can be hard to detect, but one way or another it will go to a body shop for an estimate.

Oh and as far as the two guys with fire extinguishers, that was painful to watch. To put a fire out you need to spray the suppressant on the fuel source, not the flames in the air above the fuel source. I thought everyone knew this, but apparently not those guys, though kudos to them for risking their own well-being for a moron's Mustang.

      pull pin
      aim at base of fire
      squeeze
      sweep at base of fire

PASS - they even put a diagram on the extinguisher!

So, I kinda get it, but still Like, you have to want to destroy your car to stay in it that long.
This is the critical part, I think - most of us are not *trying* to get sideways, so when the car loses traction, we lift off the throttle, or at minimum try to modulate it a bit.

But If you think you’re a Formula Drift champ.. or you’re street racing, and refuse to back out of the throttle because you live life a quarter mile at a time... or you’re leaving the CnC event and want to see yourself laying stripes later on YouTube... then you ignore your instinct, and more often than not, run out of talent at the same rate that you’ve run out of grip.

So, when do we think we'll start seeing Mustang Mach-E's crashing in similarly spectacular fashion?

What day is the first Mach-E scheduled to be delivered to a customer?

There have already been at least two 2020 Corvette crashes and zero have been delivered. I'm sure a Mach-E crash will happen before delivery and we will see it if it happens on a public road.
