    Thread: my very old GTI

    1. 11-24-2016 01:15 AM #1
I thought I would show my 1979 GTI. its a Canadian model, I've had it for 6 years and have done a bunch since I've had it. I recently got it out of the shop, after having it tuned and a pile of other stuff done. ( huge thanks Brent!) it has a 1.6 litre, with an Arkay turbo system, running on CIS. still a metric ton left to do, but isn't that what cars are about? here are some pics, I hope you all like it as much as I do

Very nice! White never gets old.

Out of curiosity, what kind of power will a turbo deliver in that setup? Are those front tires wide enough to do anything but bounce around?

Great looking GTI! The BBS definitely look awesome on there.

If by chance you are in need of a red GTI badge for the grill let me know. I have one in very nice condition just kicking around that I was going to try to use on a MK2 but never did.

Please update your thread as things progress!

      Very nice!

An early round headlight GTI is just so strikingly simple and perfect. Kudos.

Proper wheel fitment? Function over form? What a square.
