Nice! It’s a beautiful car, this is just evidence to that fact.
Lovely car. I sometimes get this urge to sell my e9 project in exchange for a clean MKI GTI or Scirocco. I'm quite partial to the Petri Wheel. VW Folks don't go as nuts about them, but the leather version came on the BMW 3.0 CSL and sell for about $3K. I have a 40cm dished Petri that I just listed on eBay.
I also love the plaid seats! My car is is just a bit too old to sport plaid but I would if I could...
well here is a pic from the car show last weekend, motorgathering.com if your interested. its held at island motorsport track on Vancouver island. it was lots of fun, and my car drove approx. 300km with no probs turbo was boosting all the way its now asleep for the winter at my mother-in-laws until spring, or I decide what to do with it. got some space in the garage now, have to try and fill it with something

The Arkay kit has a very tiny intercooler, mounted horizontally down low in front of the transmission. Sure is a blast to drive, but got killed by gearing on the highway. Looking for a diesel 5th gear for it to drop the rpm’s at 120km/h. Then drive everywhere!!
I still have a bunch of callaway stuff I never used. Check the classifieds or PM me

Update time. after the 40th b-day, it was time to bring grandpa home. headed to the MIL's place yesterday and this morning made the trek from Campbell River to Victoria. The GTI didn't miss a beat the entire trip, around 300km! had a stop for gas with the largest gnome in the world 25 ft tall! who knew!! (very poor perspective, the gnome is like 40 ft away)

anyways now the hard part, get the GTI ready to sell, since its sitting outside now once i clean up a few things it will hopefully be up on BaT and make me a millionaire! it will be super tough to see it go, 10 years together, 1/4 of its life wow that sounds weird.
I get why you are selling it. I was in a similar situation when I got rid of my '92 GTI. I had moved to a place up on a mountain and didn't want to subject it to gravel roads. I also didn't want to pay for a storage unit in town and leaving it on the street wasn't an option.
That being said, that is the one car I wish I had found a way to hold onto even after over 12 years going by since I watched it drive away. I'll never find another in that condition for anywhere near what I paid for it. Make sure you think it over hard before you post your ad is all... Such a beautiful GTI.
