This might have been posted sometime ago but this is a very cool upgrade for our cluster.

You can find out more info:
      https://translate.google.com/transla...FA&prev=search

Looks like batches are made and you need to get in on the batch or wait until next batch. Cost is $200. 100% prepayment is required. You then have to take your cluster apart and solder this unit in.

It`s another type of FIS controller. This version comes with a screen and you have to solder it into your dash yourself but is cheap at GBP £140 delivered to here in the UK. Basically reads the canbus and can show read outs for what ever canbus reads plus some logos and read/delete fault codes. Don`t think you can connect outside sensors to this version though if you want to read boost pressure or something the standard R32 ECU canbus reads unlike some of the other versions but then there is no external box or wiring to mess with. Depends on what you want really but does make the dull Mk4 dash much more colourful with a updated look.

Tony was just showing me this the other day, looks very interesting. I did purchase a HGP module from HPA but they couldn't get it to work so I had to return it. Was looking at the FIS-Control but now this is an option. The bummer though, it seems to not give a boost reading which sucks.....is there a fix for that?

The question for me is how to get a hold of one? I'm not quite in the mood to send $200 to the Ukraine blindly. That's a bit of of a leap of faith to say the least.

Just got an email back from the guy, Daniel Ho. There are 5-6 here in the US. I asked about adding other sensors like boost.

      Here's his answer to boost.
"yes. you need to connect wire from boost pessure sensor to mfa"

      So, looks like it's possible.

Unless I misunderstood I think they are based in Russia, not Ukraine (but they do speak about shipping to Ukraine in their blog).

Would be interested to find someone who has done it here in the States and to hear about their overall experience trying to a. buy this thing and b. installing it.

Looks really cool and it's awesome that folks are still working on new stuff for the older cars, but I'm a bit cautious on these things.

theres a guy in the US who is running a group buy on FB. He is ordering the ColorMFAs from Russia and can either install them in your cluster or send to you to install yourself. He also does other cluster modifications as well. Worth a look on his page. I have not gotten it done yet but spoke to him and will be getting in on this group buy.

      Hopefully that link works.

I've never torn into my dash or MFA (plagued with heat fade), so the one question I have:
      - Will this work with an R with the half-height MFA?
Asking because I believe added a full-height MFA requires... coding? Something? Is this a drop-in replacement for the half-height, just mo'bigger?

If "yes, it'll work" I'll go in for one on payday and report back. Bookmarking thread now.

Couple guys brought this to my attention, .:R32BDP being one of them so hopefully he get's on board with this.
I'm in the states and have 3 of these from the 6th installment order (first ones in the states maybe?)

I'm currently coordinating a group buy for the 8th installment and already have 12 people confirmed in with payment received but the more the merrier and this saves him from having to send to 20 different US addresses and saves 20 different people trying to make an account on Drive2.ru and getting a hold of him. The group buy is going through my company Clusters By Litke for anyone interested and I will also be offering an install service. I'm not making a single dime on acting as the middle man and have a very long history in the MKIV community (Anyone on BurnAllTheMKIV's would recognize me for helping out on a daily basis), only charging for install if desired due to it being fairly time consuming work. Offering my time and effort up to help get more of these in the states since they are pretty awesome but it does scare a lot of people away dealing with a random person in Russia.

Link to the page which has more info on the group buy, deadlines, and general overview of what this is all about.

As for answering a couple questions......

Will this work in an R MFA? Yes!!! This will actually work in all none 99.5 MKIV clusters even if they didn't have a screen to begin with. 99.5 being the oddball since it didn't have CANBus so ColorMFA wouldn't have a way to get any info.

What? This also reads and clears codes??!?! You know it!!!! Super handy to have instead of carrying a RossTech cable and a Windows tablet around in the glovebox all the time (I'm not the only one that does that right? haha)

Install requires soldering and minor trimming of the white plastic "frame" attached to the PCB and trimming off an alignment pin on the high beam icon. Personally my MetCal MX500 and Weller WX2021 and 30AWG wire strippers made easy work of this but if you're rocking a radio shack single temp iron with a huge tip and a razor blade as a stripper, this may prove to be tricky. How much soldering depends on what type of cluster you have, since this is R32 specific topic, let's assume everyone has half screen MFAs. All the red leds behind the MFA screen need removed and so do the warning leds above the MFA which will then be jumpered with the provided SMD resistors. Then it's just a matter of soldering wires onto the ColorMFA module (make sure CANBus wires are twisted!!!!!) then soldering the other end of each wire to the cluster PCB and then taping the screen and module down. No other wiring outside of the cluster needed and no coding needed to be done to the cluster with VAGCom, VAGTacho, etc. Just pop it back in the car and go.

Here are some links to install guides.....

And this is my personal cluster. Passat W8 946E FIS cluster, with ColorMFA, NMS/B7 Passat needles, and custom 4 ring MKIV bezel and custom 1J5920946A EEPROM flash so that it works in my 2000 GTI with 02+ 1C0 Comfort CAN CCM and door motor swap. Previously had a W8 FIS with VFIZ but ColorMFA takes it to a new level (though losing the needle sweep at startup is a bummer).

Ignore the clock adjustment knob and overall mess of things, this was just a test fit picture.

Any questions, feel free to ask

So with a R32 install do you get access to all the Canbus options that for the most part shown in the video above??

Yessir. ColorMFA works with KWP1281 and KWP2000 protocols.
