You should go to your dealer and find which G247 supersedes yours when in need of a new one...don't just order one online which you believe is the latest version and do not trust you'll get the correct part after entering your car's specs. With this sensor, it doesn't work that way.

Here's a list of the G247's oem numbers and their aftermarket counterpart someone posted on another site: It isn't correct though so check with your dealer using your VIN. See next post for explanation.:

      ↑ Again, that list doesn't work ↑
I went to my VW parts dept. this morning. I showed him that list, so we started pulling up each number...one by one. The part no. 06J 906 051D(&B) shown on the list being for a TSI w/4-digit engine codes is actually for my GTI w/FSI & BPY engine. All of the numbers listed on the list for a BPY did not include the GTI when searched at VW Parts Dept.. Those part numbers for the FSI w/3-digit eng. codes were for Audi's and a couple of newer Passat's...and only shows the FSI parts being available at Audi dealerships.

So again, because the BPY GTI is shown to have only the part no. 06J 906 051D(or B), I suggest if ever in need of a G247-high fuel pressure sensor...go to your dealer and provide your VIN to find the correct part number for your MK5.

Or, remove the current G247 and find its number printed on it. Then find that number on the list above to see which would replace it.

I am not certain when that list was originally published. But I believe that high fuel pressure sensor 06J 906 051 D includes BPY engines(perhaps the others as well) after VIN 1K-6-250 000. It appears that in mid-2006 VW switched from 06J 906 051 C to 06J 906 051 D.
