      Enormous Lucas headlights on old British luxury cars are pretty cool.

      Oddly the halogens look better than the later HID replacements.

      The first E-class you pictured is equipped with xenons actually. They only used reflector HID units in that generation. The second picture you posted has ugly aftermarket units made to mimic the subsequent W211:

      Always liked the "Xenon Plus" headlights on the facelift D2 A8/S8. They were non-projector bi-xenon headlights.







      Also liked the Euro/ROW Volvo 940 headlights.

      Growing up, my mom drove one of these when we lived in Europe. I always thought the fog lights (the inner rectangles on the bottom, closest to the grille) made it look like the car was wearing reading glasses... which seemed oddly appropriate for this car
