Also, the Clubsport S front brake pads part number comes up as NLA now.

Waiting to hear back. Provided them the transaction ID of the extra shipping payment as well as the VIN for their ordering.

Saw someone post about piano black PP lower window trim, anyone know if this really is a thing? And if so have the part #? Searching the thread didn't bring up anything.

I looked pretty hard for it and I don't think it exists as an OEM part #. I managed to find it on Aliexpress but didn't think the price was worth it so never ended up ordering it: Piano Paint Glossy Black Window Glass Exterior Strip https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3299...archweb201603_

Looks really nice compared to the rubber style though...

Latest update is that their first supplier was not able to get it. Now cars245 is trying a different supplier that has a higher price.

      Fingers still crossed.

Looks like another fingerprint magnet to me. Why not just wrap it with glossy vinyl, probably cheaper.

Not sure how well it'll stick to the rubber but that's a much cheaper way to do it.

Good point as its not clean chrome like you normally cover....might be worth testing or asking a specialist first.

Cars245 came back with request for additional funds. I'm now up $400 extra on this exhaust, bringing the total to $3881.

Let's see if this second supplier comes through. In the meantime, ordering the front brake rotors and pads to complete the performance pack.

Also, does anyone have good information on the front control arms and bushing that the clubsport S comes with?

I know the wheel hub is an upgrade and plan that with the S3 subframe but haven’t seen much about the bushings or arms.

Are you dead set on having the full package regardless of cost? They must be sailing it over on a private yacht for that price.

Performance Pack / Clubsport S brake rotors and F/R brake pads arrived today from Vagbremtechnic

Will be putting them on soon

No update on the Akrapovic yet. Cars245 last told me they were having internal system issues with billing since I’ve paid extra twice now to cover shipping and the muffler from a second supplier.

I’ll check in with them later this week to see if there’s an update.

Performance Pack / Clubsport brakes were installed today. Can tell a weight difference with the rotors even after 16.5k miles.

Cars245 also provided an update on the Akrapovic. They’re expecting it to arrive in their warehouse on July 10th.

So maybe I will have it on my car in August.

I love that brake rotor design. The outer friction ring slides on stainless steel pins around which the central aluminum hat is cast. This allows the rotor to expand radially as it heats up, and because, unlike stock pattern rotors, there's no continuous metal web joining the two, cooling air is now drawn in from both sides. That can only be a good thing.

AFAIK the first appearance of this semi-floating design was the BMW Motorsport version on the Euro E36 M3 back in the 90's. I used them as track brakes.

Thank you, I love how they look on the R too. Matches the car really well and made a nice difference in braking too! Higher friction pad, helps on the street.
