      "Likely" and "up to".

That stupid lizard on TV tells us you could save "up to 15% or more!" on car insurance. If you analyze that statement, that means you might not save anything, you might save 1-15%, or you might even save more than that. In other words it says nothing. Just like this dumb article.

If the next GTI has over 300 hp off the showroom floor, I'll eat my airedale.

There was one of these threads almost identical to this a few years ago about the last GTI. Many lulz were had.

The Clubsport S already has 305hp. A bump to 325 for a Mk8 Clubsport S doesn't seem too far feteched. That doesn't mean the regular GTI you can buy in the U.S. will have anywhere near that power.

I laugh at phrasing such as that. It's everywhere, too.

Too bad none of that power can be put to proper use once they're all bagged and stanced out for the next H20i event.

Up to 325bhp means literally it could have 100bhp . That's the sad face of today's media. They don't really know, but they'll still make an article on something that *could* happen. Yeah, no isht a lot of things can happen. Why not concentrate on what is known to be for certain rather than fantasizing on what could be?

325 is a pretty big jump when you consider every year or two the car only gets 10 to 20 more hp. With the kind of headroom VW builds into the bottom end durability, they'd probably want to beef all that up so 325hp wouldn't stress it out over time (to avoid warranty issues). It might end up being too expensive.

10 speed DSG? I'm not sure I'd even want that many.

Again, the MK VII GTI already has "up to" 305hp if you count the Clubsport S. That's only a 20hp bump- which given the results tuners get on the EA888 gen 3, shouldn't take much doing.

Perhaps they meant to say it will have up to 10 speeds.

300+hp GTI is probably their "Type R version" aka Clubsport S

Regular GTI will still be around 200hp... If you think regular GTI will have 300+hp, you are

Current GTI have: GTI, GTI performance, GTI Clubsport and GTI Clubsport S.

"Up to" could mean "you have to pay more for it," hence TCL's objection.
From the npboards, home of "intelligent discussion:" ...Trump...seems to be appealing quite a bit to black voters. By some estimates as many as one out of four would vote for him. This may well be because he not only has a Strong Pimp Hand, he is also the most "******-Rich" man in New York City. In other words, someone they can both relate to and aspire to."

The article says standard Gti to have around 260bhp, which is less than a stg 1 tune on current model and "clubsport" upto 325bhp, which as the current model is running 286bhp doesn't seem that much of a stretch?

Try reading the article before calling it dumb. It says a base GTI will have around 260hp, which seems perfectly reasonable.
