Hey All,
Could someone with dealer experience/knowledge help a guy out?
I'm wanting to buy a 2018/2019 VW Tiguan 7 seater in Canada. I am a US citizen with a US drivers license who currently lives in Germany with a German drivers license.
Every VW dealer I try to start a conversation with almost immediately begins with "Do you have a Canadian drivers license?"
When they learn I'm trying to export this thing to Germany suddenly the various sales teams lose all interest in selling a brand new car in cash.
Any idea why this is? I mean, the price arbitrage between Germany and Canada is massive at the moment due to currency exchange issues -- but I never thought I'd run into problems purchasing a new car.
You guys have any helpful suggestions or know of a dealer in the Toronto area (preferably close to the airport) that doesn't mind selling cars to foreigners?
Best,
Gatirel
