its back! pretty stoked on a 3 week turn around time for all the work done. full cage with anti intrusion bars for the feet, front bash bar with tow hooks and reinforced frame rail plates, and rear bash bar that is designed to drag wall without bending the chassis short of smashing into a wall. he was able to get the cage so tight to the A pillar that he was able to just weld it to the pillar. got a big list of things to complete before the first event in 2ish months.

found some rust in the RR shock tower so he had to do some extra plating

anti intrusion bars. these are designed to stop wheels from cutting your ankle off in the event of a serious collision while tandeming

You gonna paint the cage? I'd just take a can of POR15 and brush it on

made a big order of parts and i will be working on it all week. currently got the e46 arm in minus the lollipop bushings that should be here tomorrow and angle blocks installed. blew the rear end apart in prep for condor bushings, wheel bearings and nerf lower adjustable arms. also got the cage mostly painted so i can atleast get the dash back in and together. waiting on new tie rods, waterpump, belts, swaybar links and whatever else shows up that i forgot i ordered

      will do.

got it back on the ground today. i was fighting a rear wheel bearing race being stuck in the trailing arm all day yesterday and i finally got it to shatter today. i got the water pump replaced, e46 lower arms, angle blocks, condor solid lollipops, condor solid rear subframe, condor solid trailing arm bushings, nerp tech lower arms, new power steering line, new tie rods, new RR wheel bearing and a new solid steering shaft bushing. currently having some power steering issues where it is pissing out fluid but i dont think its from the new line. i will be looking at that closer tomorrow along with the steering shaft is binding so i have to see if adjusting its position will make it better as i may have pulled it to tight and the u joint at the fire wall is binding up. gonna need some small spacers for the front wheels to clear the sway bar at full lock but genuinely surprised with all the clearance. then a full alignment, seat, dash, harnesses reinstalled, front tires and a replacement 3.91 diff and it will be ready for its first event

so the power steering issue it turns out is the rack. i guess when i was removing the old steering joint i point some pressure on the seal around the shaft and its just pissing fluid out of that. have a line on a good used rack right now

Seems like the rack on these things weep power steering fluid straight from the factory. Lol, I don't think i've ever seen one that doesn't do it. Love the car man! Wish I had the nuts to turn my 343k mile E36 M into a drift machine.

it basically emptied the reservoir overnight little bit more than a weep. i got a 48k mile rack replacement and i ordered a stock new rubber bushing to install. i think the solid shaft bushing mis aligned the shaft in the rack enough that it wrecked it. when i was installing the replacement rack i couldnt even get the rack bolts to go in it was so out of wack.
