So i went and picked up a CTS turbo kit with upgraded gtx3071r last week. just wondering if there is anything to look out for when it comes to install. it will be fitted in my mk2 coupe with stand alone management. ill try and make this a build thread to follow if i remember to take pictures.

I have had this jetta for over 10 years, most of it was already 1.8t swapped and daily driven.

      Vehicle: 90 Jetta Coupe
      cx racing coils
autotech front and rear swaybars, 25mm and 28mm
poly and derlin bushings every where it seems
corrado 11inch front brakes and rear disc, SS lines
other braces i dont remember what brand.
autopower bolt it/ welded roll cage

      Engine: 1.8t
      IE Drop in rods
      supertech valve springs and seat
      autotech intake cam
      supertect inconel exhaust valves
      arp head bolts
      gtx3071r turbo with CTS kit
      034/grams intake manifold
      grams 70mm TB
      39mm precision WG
3 in. custom straight pipe back
some decent FMIC (might need something bigger)

      EMU black stand alone

o2j trans with 3.9 R&P, (might swap out fifth gear with diesel ratio)
      o2j shifter
      quaife lsd
clutch masters fx300 clutch with g60 LWF

      other parts looking to get:
      better catch can system
      watermeth and or bigger IC

here are a couple pictures i snagged the other night mocking up the turbo and manifold.

      old frankenturbo

just a few with turbo mounted before my phone died

gonna start putting some together tonight and see how they fit, and will take pictures. Rods, valve springs and intake cam are installed already. On a side note, anyone in the market for a frankenturbo kit?

There’s really no how to on the build thread. I would suggest maybe talking about your previous “version”, what you’ve done so far, what your plans are and tons of pictures lol.

I would be happy with a used franken turbo depending on the price. What company is it from and how much were you thinking? Please PM me.

Your oil return looks like it might be backwards. Maybe a little long, too.
3071/rods/ppt.. and still just a gti.

Check this out too. it might help. https://forums.vwvortex.com/showthre...-my-Turbo-k03s

I noticed your rubber line next to the turbo is not a good idea. It will melt or crack quickly when it gets too hot in there.

yea im not a fan of that coolant line. kit only had one line anyways. im gonna get some high temp hose and wrap it in thermal sleeve. im also thinking of hard line for a portion around turbo to combat heat.

for the oil line i think it will be ok routed around the axle. i was able to put the sub frame together and wanna mount it all in the bay and check clearances.

Little progress last night, more to come this weekend. took both front fenders off and started de-greasing all the road grime from over the years and will over all work on getting ready for primer in the weeks to come.

I wanted to ask hear while im still researching what fuel injectors to get. i had planned on running an old set of siemens deka 630cc that ive had for a couple years. now im looking into other options for e85/flexfuel. so far the genesis 2 1000cc, injector dynamics id1050x and maybe ev14. (leaning toward id1050x) Ive used some injector calculators and given the setup, 1000cc injectors are needed. if any one has some info that i may not come across speak up.

the genesis 2 are superior to everything else on the market for the 20v. spray pattern, their consistency in quality and performance. because of that, they're a dream to tune and they deliver.
