I like how they raised the shoulder line up into the door handles and extended it to the taillights. The Jetta has that same kind of thing, but it's a much more pronounced feature on the Jetta. I like the more subtle approach on the Golf. I'm not sure about the front bumper and front headlights yet. I need some more and better pictures!

Personally, I'm not a fan. The front looks droopy and I don't dig the space-eating concept of sloping the rear glass. My favorite feature on the MK7 is relatively flat back; not only is it really practical, but it sets it apart from every other hatchback on the market. Looks like it's gotten closer to Seat Leon.
Low roofline in the back, will that hamper headroom?
Rule #1: Keep the shiny side up, rubber side down.
As for this MKVIII, I'm having a hard time believing that's actually the next gen Golf. It only looks like another refresh of the 7. Even the area between the windshield, door and hood looks exactly like on the MKVII.
Those headlights look like something whipped up about an hour before they realized they needed to make the McDs run for the rest of the design team after they lost the bet on if Brexit was going to happen or not.
I'm willing to reserve judgement until we see some better photos, but if this really is the Mk8 I'm keeping my Mk7.5 longer than I thought or moving onto something else when the time comes.
As of the moment - it looks like a big disappointment.
