Just found out that vw dealers as of Jan will not just give out radio unlock codes now you have to have the radio installed on the the car so the can scan it and the get the code!!!!!!! So always one hour labor to do this !!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!! So fun lil projects like mine now have a 150& price that I HAVE TO PAY to vw to work on my own car !!!!!! Was upgrading my 13 prem 8 radio to a 14 model for HD radio as well as sat and now to do this I have to go to the dealer cause you can’t do this in vcds

Retrieved my code for an RNS-315, for $47. German company radiocode.de.
With model and serial number, and Paypal payment, they sent me the code within 5 minutes. Cheaper, and much faster than the dealer

So on the poorly translated website, I'm seeing the S/N and "Note". Do they actually need the model number?

Just got back from dealership, aside from the $130 fee VW will code the radio for you but not give you the code!!! Essentially hijacking your radio and holding it for ransom.

Ahh how I miss my MK2.
