I am looking for a 1.5L (1,457 CC) gas engine. They are supposed to have been in 75-80 rabbits, sciroccos, jettas, and passats.

I can not locate them anywhere. Either in a car or stand alone.

Does anyone know where to find this engine? I thought it would be easier to locate. We’re there not a lot of these offered in the US?

      Thanks

Most of them were cashed in. They are probably made into many other cars now.

There was a cancer ridden 77 Panama Brown Rabbit sold within the last week on CL around Louisville KY. I had one just like it and yes, it was the 1489 ish cc. This car is pretty much non op, maybe you could find it.

That would be the 1471 cc version from a 75 and would need the 75 head.
The 1457 cc was only used in 78 and some 79 rabbits. They had a cast crank and that was the demise of most of them.
Why may I ask would you want that engine? The 1.6 (1588 cc) is a much better engine and easier to find. Even the 1.7 (1715 cc) is better.
