Is there anyone in CT, near New Britain, who can work with me on replacing an O-ring in a valve body? ('01 A4 Quattro O1V.) Preferably at your location, and someone who's worked on valve bodies before.
I can do it myself, but I work outside and have to wait for good weather. Also, I've been repairing various problems on my kids' cars since December (heater core, timing belt, rusted-out struts, why does stuff wait for winter to fail, ugh) and my fiancee is getting tired of me working on cars in the driveway. So I told her I'd see if I could find someone who can help, before doing it myself.
The issue is described here. See post #4.

I have found many similar posts on different sites stating that replacing this O-ring fixed their reverse problem. So it might, or it might not. If it doesn't, it is time for a new transmission, but since this is my daughter's car and she doesn't have 3-4 thousand dollars, I'd like to try the cheaper fix first.
