Gearing: we were told that 3.21s would be too anemic accelerating and climbing hills, which is fairly important as we tow west four or five times a year. Climbing the mountains in western Maryland is so easy with these gears. The middle option is 3.55 but those are impossible to find.

Dealer: it was Keene in Jarrettsville MD. I don't hold any of this hood snafu against the dealer itself. They barely saw the truck themselves before sending it to prep so the missing Sport hood would be easy to overlook. Our salesman was very good, even with the call to tell me that the truck wasn't actually on the lot. We got to a bottom line price number that I was happy with very quickly and drama-free. I'd buy there again, but I probably will wait till the truck is actually physically on the grounds before signing on the dotted line next time.

That’s the previous gen. I believe the hood is the same as the Rebel’s, maybe with different plastic inserts.

Edit: And VW's too. There was a MkV Rabbit many years ago that had a mostly beige interior with a few black panels.
I recall a thread from my MKVI days where somebody had taken delivery of a 6MT GTI that had a steering wheel with paddle shifters. Built in Germany in October, no less.

      FCA gonna FCA.

I find it's best to treat them like I treat Comcast; my expectations are so low that when they live down to them, it's just laughable and expected rather than a cause for anger.

Worked security at one of the large rail yards here after crews of crooks kept sneaking in, and driving away with 5-10 cars at a time by crashing a gate... anyways, it was common to see vehicles left to the side with damage of some sort. Seemed like the most common though was flat tires. Still, you figure how quickly they are trying to unload the cars and shuttle them around to the right part of the yard, and then the semi-truck drivers who are trying to load them up as fast as possible... bound to be some damage here and there.

OP hopefully all will work out with the new hood (painted the correct color ) and the PDR.

I once purchased a new Suzuki Swift GTi while on military TDY in Georgia, drove it for a few months in winter, and prepared to drive it back to my permanent duty station in Oklahoma. Luckily, we had a warm day when I thought to test the factory-equipped AC. Except the factory had forgot to install said AC. The dealership was helpful but it delayed my return trip by a few days as they ordered then installed the AC kit. Buyer Beware!

I was expecting someone worse than a hood, like the wrong engine or interior package or something difficult. At least the hood will be an easy swap.

Definitely confirm the rest of the build specs are all there, including gear ratio/gas tank/etc.

This is what the hood is supposed to look like

The funny thing is that the whole five years that we've had our 4th gen Ram, I always looked longingly at the ones with the sport hood even though it wasn't even available for the Laramie on that gen. My buddy who works at a body shop told me that if I found one, he'd paint it and install it, but I never went through with it. Now I get to have something with the sport hood, and they forgot to put it on.

In your case, impossible indeed. 3.55 is only available as an option on the V6.

That happens. At least it was all one color, and didn't have mis-matched doors.
