The problem may be the same, but the sound seems to be "grown" a bit. It is a different frequency/tone now and as you can hear in the video it is pretty loud and at times is pretty strong, like someone hitting it with a hammer.

Guys, in regards to "bring it to a mechanic", "been there, done that". I am crying day in and day out.

Has your mechanic suggested (and replaced) the RF wheel bearing yet?

That's what I am wondering. We just had to do both both front on my wife's Passat and the symptoms were the same.

OP have you jacked up the front end and checked to see if there is any play in the wheel when it is off the ground?

While a good idea, it won't necessarily prove (or disprove) that the bearing has failed. With double-row ball bearings, the bearing can be quite wasted, with zero play. If there IS play, then it's really, really ufcked.

Almost sounds like a badly cupped tire. Is the suspension original?

Thank you to those who are trying to help to figure out the thing. RF stands for Right Front I guess, i.e. right passenger side? No, it is still original bearing. I replaced rear one awhile ago. Yes, suspension is all original. Rotate tires and see whether it would make a difference?

Yes RF is front passenger side.

Pretty sure that'll be your left front wheel bearing.

If you can drive it for 10+ minutes without using your brakes, there should be a noticeable difference between the temperature of the front wheels near their center bore. You'll have to use your e-brake to stop. Obviously only do this if it's possible to do safely with traffic.

Alternatively, since I read the thread title as making a woo who noise, I would suggest having your head checked. Preferably by a jumbo jet. It's not easy. But nothing is.

OP, how many times does TCL need to recommend replacing the wheel bearings before you do it?
