My 328d was the best car I've ever owned. I was planning on keeping it then adding a 997.2 C2S at some point, however the lease was up, and BMW financial didn't want to negotiate the super high residual. So I decided to stay in the F chassis and pick up a sporty DD. MPGs be damned.

My only regret was the headlights. Mine has the new LED projectors, but my 328d had the LED adaptive reflectors, which fill the front end out much better. Also, they kick ass on the tight twisty canyon roads here in LA.

      2018 M3
      • Austin Yellow Metallic
      • CF Roof (no sunroof)
      • CF rear lip spoiler
      • 6-speed manual
      • Cloth seats
      • BSM
      • Adaptive suspension
      • Park distance control
      • Apple CarPlay

      Planned mods:
      • KW HAS suspension
      • Throw on my existing Silver / Ferric Gray 437 wheels
      • Painted reflectors
      • 20mm spacers
      • Very light ceramic tint

I know Austin Yellow is a polarizing color, but it needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate it. The color brought back memories of the press photos from the E46 driving through the desert.

Been taking it easy until the break-in period is over. 300 miles down, 900 to go.

Snapped a few pictures in DTLA after some light tunnel rips last night:

Congratulations OP! If you are gonna get yellow paint, might as well be something awesome. I think you did great there.

Congrats. Sounds like a fun car. And good choice with the manual transmission. Definitely the right choice for a more involving experience.

Congrats, looks nice. And the manual definitely makes it more appealing. Looking fwd to seeing pics once you got the planned mods done.

Oh yes. I absolutely love the cloth seats in that car, they may be the best OEMs out there.

      this color is stunning!!!

like most colors these days, they almost all need to be seen in person to appreciate it.
my dark moss green metallic is prime example of that.

Hell yeah, austin yellow + 6MT! Save the manuels and save the colors!

Is this a lease as well? What kind of #s did they give you? Not super relevant for me as I'm in TX but I'd still like to know.
There's so many cars I'm considering for our next purchase but my heart keeps coming back to the F80. Depending on how much I want to spend it'll be hard to not get either one of those or a JLU

There is at least one M3 and an M4 in this colour that I sometimes see during my commute. Very cool colour and nicely spec'd!

Purely out of curiosity: you listed including the adaptive suspension option, but also adding aftermarket KW suspension. Is there a risk that this could clash with the adaptive suspension system or cause any faults with sensors and so on?

      Nice pickup!

I've been smitten with the F80 M3 ever since I attended a BMW M Track Days event and got to drive one on the track in Monticello.
