Being arrested doesn't mean this person is in jail or imprisoned. That's not how this works...

You can't just court order someone to reimburse the owner on the side of the road, They've not been convicted. They still have a right to a trial or even to consult council before simply making a plea. Unless this lady has a stack of warrants she was home before anyone even read this thread.

      Is this really not understood?

Teslas are the new BMW. Many Tesla drivers around here have a high opinion of their importance and drive like their exhaust pipe doesn't stink... Cutting people off and not yielding properly. Could be that the driver of this Tesla didn't play nicely.

You're correct, she probably just received an appearance ticket.

Two "adult" men could be seen deliberately keying the electric sedan, laughing about the act between themselves, then coming back to damage the Model 3 some more.

In San Francisco, the DA wouldn't even look at a case like this, assuming the cops even bothered to haul her in or even investigate. If she were hauled in, she'd probably sue the city and win a 7-figure settlement for harassment of some kind.

The owner probably went to Maaco or somewhere. Insurance should have made a quote and it clear your $1,000.

      $3k?
She should be flogged in the public square before being tarred, feathered, and run out of town.

That's what you get when you park to close to such a work of art as a Dodge Journey.

You would have a point if the car was heavily vandalized or worse. They should just compensate for the damage done and be on their way.
Punishments should serve as a deterrent. Too heavy and it's unjust. Too light and there's nothing stopping people from doing it again. IMO, the arrest should come only if she failed to pay for the damage she did.

Model 3 doors have aluminum skins. I guess that makes it harder to repair.

Punishment for **** like this should have to be re-raised for 18 years by a proper parent, starting back over at the infantile attachment stage, because something is clearly wrong with their development that it ever occurred to them that this type of behavior is acceptable.

I support higher penalties for deliberate vandalism. Same goes for littering. These people aren't making the world a better place, they're making it worse. Let all the pot smokers out of jail and put these idiots in.

And that woman has kids, meaning she's passing on her stupid DNA.

Sentry mode should have small taser turrets that turn the offending vandals into writhing bodies on the ground in their own urine. Once the YouTube videos of that make it out to the public there wont be any more of these incidents.

Impound offenders car, gets released when the victims car gets fixed. Offender is greatly inconvienced and suffers from the results of their actions. No jail time needed. Plus the impound fees help the government.

Can someone explain why Tesla's camera videos all seem to have such a dark tint or tone to them? I've seen much better videos from $50 dashcams.

      Lots of examples here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaCam/

Chinese-made "Merica" shirt, from Wal-Mart, but hating on a car/car company that's probably more authentically American than GM at this point.
