Even if gas prices skyrocket, trucks will still be in demand. Now, full size SUVs will be in the sales dump once that happens. Tiny-utes, not so much.

You might want to look into a new Chevy Silverado. Ram actually beat them in terms of sales in March. Some good deals to be had around in my neck of the woods (aka Texas).

I remember the price difference being between 10-15 cents until we had the price spikes and the difference jumped to 30 cents between the grades. Now they seem to be between 45 and 60 cents.

Of course the only place that seems to not be true is Costco and if I had a car that took premium I would be filling up there only because it can be 80 cents cheaper per gallon! Granted regular is also typically 20 cents cheaper per gallon so I still run out there to fill up.

It's been a slow boil. We were down around $1.50/gal about 6 months ago, and they've just slowly turned up the wick. Now we are almost double that, but no one's talking because it happened like $.20/mo, not a huge $1.50 jump all at once.

'Below $5 a gallon, no f*cks given...' poll choice is number two. So, I don't think so.

I haven't heard many complaints about gas prices recently. I'm actually surprised considering how quickly it seems to be increasing but I guess with many of the larger vehicles being more fuel efficient the complaints aren't as loud. Granted we will see if that stands if prices in my area get above $3.00 (currently ~$2.70) which seems to be the tipping point.

I think we'll be at $3 a gallon regular this Summer.

Gasoline prices typically move higher this time of year. But the seasonal rise is even more pronounced thanks to flooding in the Midwest and dwindling oil production out of Venezuela.

You're right, during the last gas spike 10 years ago large SUVs got hammered.
Full size pickups faired better but still took a beating.

Tundra Double Cab SR5 4x4s were about $23k, that was $12k-$14k off.
I'm going to need prices like that to get into a new truck.

Filled up yesterday at my favorite no-name gas station in Seekonk, MA. $2.49 for regular, $2.79 for the premium the TL takes.

That cube will be at the pump in 5 minutes. It could easily take 5 minutes to detour to another gas station depending on where they are.

It's potentially a perfect example of someone being as efficient as possible.

For real. Is COSCO only open 1 hour per day? Is the price really that much lower?

The only time I see lines like that are during weather events like wildfires, hurricanes, and flooding. In those situations every station will have a line.

I avoid Costco like the plague on weekends. The one closest to my house will have lines 6-8 cars deep and 90% of them are SUV's. I find the best time to go is Monday or Tuesday after work.

It can be for us, both md and va are already 20-30 cents less so tack on Costco 10-15 cents less sometimes and the fact we are there already.. we can save quite a bit.

NJ anyone is allowed to buy fuel there, law against membership required for fuel purchases. NJ is even cheaper than Va and md way better than pa so we always get fuel in NJ when we go. But Costco isn't convenient to our direction of travel to and from my parents and the lines are on a good day 2* what that pic shows. So we don't go just for fuel, but if we need stuff anyway we go and will wait the few minutes since we are there already.

The only time NJ law that you can't pump your own gas is an advantage is Costco, those guys are efficient!!!
