    Thread: Weird clock problem

    1. 04-14-2019 04:45 PM #1
I had the battery out of the car for several months while I was rebuilding the turbo and replacing the timing chain in my 08 BPY 2.0T 6MT. Now that the car is back together, the dash clock randomly skips forward and back an hour. I don't see where any liquid got into the clock buttons on the dash. The date is off by about 3 months- just haven't reset it yet. Several times it is advanced an hour when I start the car. I'll correct the time, only to later find it behind be an hour. Really weird. Any ideas about what the cause might be?

Are you using the same key fob consistently? Each fob gets associated with certain options in the MFD settings menu, date and time being one of them. I discovered this when I turned on DST for the first time, only to find it set back when I used the fob that my wife usually uses.

That could be it. I'm swapping keys, just grabbing whatever is convenient as this is now me secondary/ daily driver car. I'll have to check the settings to see if there's a difference between keys.

That was it, thanks. The clock doesn't switch until you start the engine, and the DST settings are specific per key. Fixed now, thanks
