Well, I'm scared. It'd be great for Halloween but theres 364 other days in a year that it's just gonna be awkward.

If anyone is interested, in one hour BMW will be unveiling the 4 series concept here with the gigantic grilles. It will give you a decent idea of what the m3/4 will be working with.

I honestly cannot believe that this what BMW design has come to. It is the ugliest 3 series by far. That front end may go down in history as one of the ugliest as well. Incredible...

Jesus, that was like reading the national inquirer of auto rags....

I'll be hunting for a CPO F8x m3/4 in about a year and a half. This pig/rat nose crap might keep the values higher than I had hoped.

I'm sure it's gonna drive fine though.

So it will be perfect, except I will need to blindfold myself before entering or exiting the vehicle.

Yeah, I am usually the voice of reason on here saying "people will get used to it," and "it will be great when it's finally released."

I don't think that I can get used to this car. Woa.

I also realized that, despite growing up as a BMW fanboy, there isn't a single BMW model that excites me anymore. The closest is the M2 Competition, but even that looks odd, is only available as a coupe, and has some of the F8x foibles.

Agreed 100%. Right around the time I started learning to drive, the E36 M3 and E39M5 were fantasy cars of mine. While I do appreciate the M2, everything else in BMW's line up is just uninspired or actively hideous. I used to be a big fan of BMW over Merc- now I'm indifferent to both.

It's not only the grille, but the vents in the bumper are absolutely massive too. I wonder if they had to do all this for cooling. Surely there are more elegant ways to get around that - This is bad.

Apparently they are going function over form for the aero of this gen. I don't think this rendering is all that accurate, but it will supposedly have very aggressive aero.

You can do Aero without looking bad though. Plenty of cars with aggressive Aero look fantastic.

Well, we don't know what it looks like yet. From the leaks I think the grilles look pretty bad, but we haven't seen the aero yet.

BMW is competing with Lexus for ultra-ugly grills.
