Thread: MK4 GTI GLX vr6 coilovers question

    1. 05-18-2019 12:28 AM #1
Whenever I find coilovers that I want for my gti it always says to "When lowering vehicle more than 40mm, the anti sway bar must be retrofitted"? I was wondering what does this even mean? if I want to buy coilovers do I also have to get a new sway bar?

Sounds like you need to go to a mechanic also 40mm is max because the sway bar will hit the axles and rub unless the links are extended to make up for bringing the control arm closer to the strut. You will be losing suspension travel by lowering more than 40mm causes problems with handling

This is what I have on my GTI you will have to put some adjustable links on in place of the factory ones if you lower the car
