Hi all, Ive been browsing these forums for some time and ive seen similar problems, and im actually currently fixing my cooling issues thanks to these forums. I own a 96 VW Jetta GLS and for some time ive been having issues with my tailights. So to explain in as much detail as I can, the problem occurs when I brake and/or try to use my signals. Whenever I brake, my hazard/signal lights come on instead of my brake lights, and the hazards show up illuminated on the dash as well. Thats only the start, If i use my right signal, my left one blinks as well as my brake lights. And if i use my left signal the right one blinks very faintly but the brake lights continue flashing though. Also, if i have a turn signal on, left or right, and i press my brakes, the signals turn off and my hazard/signal lights come on in the rear instead because as i said earlier with me braking and my signal lights coming on instead. Ive fixed this problem once by checking my ground point in the trunk and cleaning them off with a wire brush,(thanks to this site) but after about a week or two the problem came back. Just yesterday I tried cleaning and scrubbing my battery terminals which seemed to do nothing so its just leaving me all sorts of confused. My next guess would be maybe a fuse? Im not sure and any help would be appreciated, Thank you
