      WEWS - Cleveland, Ohio

Pennsylvania man says car roundabouts are to blame for 'tornaders'

MOOSIC, Pa — A Pennsylvania man is blaming a certain weather phenomenon on road construction. Apparently, traffic circles or roundabouts are responsible for creating tornadoes.

The man called the ABC station in Moosic, Pennyslyvania ( WNEP-TV ) to leave his two cents. The station has a show called Talkback that lets viewers leave them a message and then it is played on-air.

"We didn't have 'tornaders' here until we started putting in the traffic circles. Cause, on account of, you know why? When people go round and round in circles, it caused disturbance in the atmosphere, and causes tornadoes," the caller stated.

Oooh, that's one of my hometown TV stations. My dad LOVES listening to Talkback 16 - "Those people are so stupid."

On the other hand, it further helps me lose my faith in humanity.

about 1/4 mile from my house is a busy intersection that consistently had wrecks on morning traffic commuting. i live kind of in the sticks so it was essentially 2 x 45mph streets meeting with only one having stop signs.

when i heard they were putting in a roundabout, i thought it was the dumbest thing and biggest waste of taxpayer money at 1.7 million.

now that its done? i whole heartedly support more of them and think its amazing all be it still way overpriced.

want to have fun...go through a traffic circle (roundabout) in a country where they drive on the other side of the road. For me it was Jamaica....I was doing OK (merging was tricky) till I hit the roundabout at 40 mph and went through it in the wrong direction

Me too! Also in Jamaica but I had my wife point which way I needed to go on those roundabouts so I avoided going the wrong way. Still took me a bit to get it all figured out.

If it eases congestion and eliminates series injuries/death it will more than pay for itself.

Americans don't know how to use them yet since they're a new concept here. Around the world, they work perfectly.

I had one time where I had to stop before coming into a roundabout because there was a bus, this idiot behind me nearly rear ended me and came up next to me and said "you don't f***ing stop you dumbass". You're supposed to yield. If it's clear, go. If not stop. Pretty damn simple to me. To be fair, the guy was one of those Monster drinking Kyle types.

Not exactly a new concept, there were many through New Jersey growing up, but while the concept is good, ( like many things ), in real world application it doesn't work so well. Many of the circles I grew up with have been replaced.

Cars in the circle have the right of way and incoming traffic is supposes to yield, get someone in an old car charging into the circle and invariably someone in a newer car yields in the circle and traffic gets backed up in a heartbeat. Kinda became a game of chicken and traffic problems were the result. Wanna drive passengers crazy? Get in the circle and stay there, just go round and round for a while, really freaks out passengers that aren't familiar with circles.

      The Analytical Group

Based in Cincinnati, Ohio comprised of 12 news journalists, owned and operated by Time Warner. Who under the falsehood of "private citizens", call in to their own networks producing false content to produce content....to even begin with.

The Analytical Group isn't real, however makes you question "who are these people to even begin with?" Mewh....just call in all day to your parent company and come up with stuff to have material.

      What a great ruse.

HA yeah I never understood when I saw comments about them being a problem or they would show confused Americans in a roundabout in Europe in a movie.. like these exist in America, there is one up the road.. grew up in NJ too.

      Love roundabouts.

Not sure how they are going to fit one but we desperately need one about half mile from my house. Multiple business driveways, college entrance/exit all within 300-400 feet and more getting built. I forget the stat but I think it is more accidents happen there than the rest of our zip code combined. But a town not to far away just put in a series of them and our mayor got lost going around them and now hates them

I suppose if there were enough of them they could cause a roundabout.

      Oh, wait. Never mind....
