Thread: If you could magically have any Volkswagen BRAND NEW from any year what would you have?

    1. 06-12-2019 02:04 PM #51
      Passat wagon 3.6 4 Motion

If VW remade this with modern tech...I’d be waiting at the dealership for the 1st one off the truck.

      Other choices:
      Mk2 GTI
      W8 Passat

A Brazilian SP-2. Then I'd send it straight to these guys.

I'll take a 1975 Scirocco please. That way I would have a brand new canvas to play with while flipping off the Kalifornia smog check program

Classified forum rules require that you post a price. If you don't know what to ask, they suggest that you search past FS threads.

So, when your item sells, please don't edit out your price and description when you mark it "SOLD". Rather, edit to show selling price.

I'd go with a QSW. No power options, 5 spd manual.

      VW's best-ever production sleeper.

      Or

(For which I would immediate yard out the motor/trans and upgrade, along with a bunch of other stuff...so I’d likely be better off starting with a low-rust vanagon syncro and building it).

They're not really that out of date. Auto Cruise Control was one of the few features that didn't come standard with the 2008s (Nav was the other) but it was an available option.* Throw in a CarPlay/Android Auto head unit and rear view camera and you're set. No blind spot monitoring or lane keep or emergency braking or any of that junk but for me that's a plus.

Anyway, since I already have a Passat wagon 3.6 4motion () mine would either be a MkII GTI 16v or a Corrado VR6. The Corrado was my "realistic alternative" middle school dream car, right behind the unrealistic Countach.

*Good luck finding one with it, their sales volume was proably in the two figures.

I had the pretty much new SLC, so I would definitely go with a 90's 2.0 16v GTI without second thought.

Having owned a '69 Beatle and '70 Bus back in the day, I have to go with a VR6 Corrado. One of the coolest cars I ever drove as a kid and I still love them. It's a shame there's hardly any around at all anymore.

If you have a 5 cylinder, you don't need a stereo.
