The wheels and camo are hideous, but its overall size and shape are somewhat promising. An Elantra N with AWD + DCT + that 2.5T sounds like a very interesting proposition.

I dislike the proportions quite a bit. Much prefer the pre-refresh of the current generation.

I agree but I wouldn't hold my breath, I think they mean for the Veloster N to be their sole entry around that segment. I wouldn't expect to see the new 2.5T in anything other than Sonata, Santa Fe, and Veloster N. I think another Elantra Sport 1.6T/DCT is the best they'll throw us. But maybe they'll prove me wrong.

This really reminds me of what a very modernly redesigned Civic could look like.

Here is what a redesigned Civic should look like (minus the chrome mustache):

      The rear is very odd.

That design is a bit nuts for an economy car. Way to bring something funky to class. The gauge cluster and infotainment are similar to the new Golf but perhaps done better. I love the rest of the interior, but wonder how good those plastics will be.

      why follow Honda's mis-opportunity...

With the rear like that, IT SHOULD BE A FASTBACK.

BTW, I really hate this generation of Hyundai corporate grille. UGLY!

Looks like all designers left for Genesis.

This is an abomination. Just like the Sonata.

Any car which holds together for a whole race is too heavy.

Looks better than the current gen, but still not as strong as the 2015 pre-refresh. That thing was legitimately handsome.

Elantra peaked with the 2012 generation. This seems like they are trying to push people to the Sonata. Terrible

Yikes! That is hideous. The interior is nice but stolen from the new Golf.

      Infotainment display for lesser models:

I wouldn't say stolen, they were in development in parallel.
