Bad behavior, indeed. But it would seem your instinct for "self preservation" would stop you from getting your body close to a metal can on wheels that powers up.

      Bizarre behavior leads to arrest

Cops just never know what is going to happen next. Have to be prepared for everything

A yelling passerby during a routine traffic stop resulted in a standoff, shots fired at officers, and an eventual arrest.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Department, it happened on Tuesday as a Washington County deputy was conducting a traffic stop on Highway 21 near Danville Road. A white male driving a maroon Dodge pickup past the office began "frantically yelling," according to a statement by the sheriff's department.

Thinking the man might be in need of some kind of assistance, the officer wrapped up the traffic stop and followed the maroon Dodge to a nearby driveway. According to the report, the man in the truck stopped behind a home. As the officer pulled up behind the truck the driver pointed a shotgun in the deputy's direction and fired a round. The shooter then fled on foot into a nearby garage.

The officer called for backup. Additional deputies and Potosi police officers responded to the scene, and as they were arriving, the man fired another shotgun blast.

After a short standoff, the man exited the garage without the shotgun. He was taken into custody without further incident.

I hope to hell the driver was identified. They only had a license plate on that video.

      He's grounded.

      DUI calls cops on himself

There's something to be said for knowing when you've had too much to drink. Although if you're lying on the ground, it's probably already a little too late.

Authorities say that's what happened to an Albuquerque man who was arrested - again - for drunken driving, after he called police on himself.

Antonio Candelaria recently was arrested when officers found him drunk in his driveway and lying on the ground with his foot stuck in his motorcycle.

Police say the 50-year-old had called police for help after getting his foot stuck.

According to police, Candelaria's breath test results came out above .16, which is twice the legal limit in New Mexico.

Court records showed that Candelaria had a long list of DWI arrests and a handful of convictions.

Men Made Black Ice on NJ Road to Cover Up DWI Crash

Two New Jersey men are facing charges after police say they tried to cover up a DWI crash by icing the roadway to make it appear as if that's what caused the accident.

Police say 20-year-old Brian Byers, of Sparta, New Jersey, blew through a stop sign and hit a guard rail early Saturday before fleeing the scene. They say another man, Alexander Zambenedetti, then drove Byers back to the scene where Byers allegedly poured water all over the intersection, creating dangerous black ice.

A patrol officer reportedly spotted Byers walking in the middle of the road and saw Zambenedetti, also 20, sitting in the car with two five-gallon buckets of water in the back seat, with some water still inside. Police say Byers admitted that their plan had been to report that the accident was caused by the black ice - when in fact, Byers had been drinking.

"You could actually see the skid marks underneath the water they had just put there, so we knew that they had dumped this water over the top of where he lost control of the vehicle rather than the vehicle losing control on the ice itself," Sgt. Dennis Proctor told CBS New York.

The temperature had reportedly dipped to one degree with a wind chill of negative 15 at the time of the incident. Public works crews had to apply a large amount of salt in order to make the roadway safe, police told the station.

Zambenedetti, who denied pouring water on the roadway, was arrested for DWI after failing a field sobriety test, reports the station. Byers is also charged with DWI, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and disorderly conduct.

Police reportedly say Zambenedetti also denied driving the car to the scene, despite having been found sitting in the driver's seat with the engine running.

In the United Arab Emirates, you may be flogged for a DUI conviction.
Drinking and driving is strictly prohibited in the UAE. A person convicted of a DUI could be sentenced to several months in jail in addition to a flogging. According to 7Days, the standard for anyone sentenced to a flogging is 80 lashes across the arms, back and legs.
In Turkey, you may get sentenced to a 20-mile march.
At one point it was common for Turkish police to take drunk drivers 20 miles outside of town and force them to walk back to town—with an escort to make sure the sentence was fulfilled.

By backing up they just backed right into the line of fire again, that they already drove through once.

Either way they were going to be in it. You're already moving forward, just keep going. By stopping and backing up I think it increased risk.

Impaired? Yep. Not right in the head if you start up shooting with no explanation. This guy said he wanted "to die". So just off yourself and don't get into gun battles with the police.~! (He later got into another gun battle and wound up arrested and facing multiple attempted murder charges)

Suicide by cop is a real thing.

What if the 1st guy in the SUV would have run into this guy's door while the suspect was shooting at the cop?

Mr. Cobos-Cenobio had at least two previous arrests, officials said, including one misdemeanor charge in 2015 that brought him to ICE’s attention. But the Obama administration, which was in office at the time, concluded he wasn’t a danger, and declined to pursue deportation.

A one-vehicle accident in Mountain Home has claimed the life of 20-year-old Kyle Christopher Roberts of Bakersfield.
According to a Mountain Home Police preliminary report, while on regular patrol Sunday evening at 11:30 officers responded to the single-vehicle accident on Coley Drive near the intersection with State Highway 201 North.

According to witnesses, Roberts' vehicle swerved in the roadway and accelerated towards the intersection. His vehicle reportedly left the roadway, striking a tree before coming to rest in front of a closed business.

Officers arrived to find Roberts trapped inside his vehicle. Officers advised MH Fire Department officers to step up their response time.

Firemen began efforts to extricate Roberts from the vehicle. The report notes in the process, officers observed an empty can of air duster on the dash. The can still had condensation on it from use.

Roberts was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center.

No citations were issued, however, charges are pending. The accident remains under investigation.

I think this might (finally) curtail multiple dui episodes.

In Malaysia, your spouse may also get incarcerated if you get a DUI.
Married drivers in Malaysia face serious trouble if they choose to drive drunk. Not only will the drunk driver be sentenced to jail time, his or her spouse could be locked up as well. So in addition to a criminal record, drunk drivers will have an angry husband or wife to contend with.
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.

She's evidently "under the influence" of massive entitlement attitude.

Bad behavior, kicks officer in the nutz and gets tazed.

      https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ffic-stop.html

Debra Hamil was stopped in Cashion, Oklahoma, and ticketed $80 for driving with a broken taillight
Hamil refused to sign the ticket and drove off when a police officer tried to place her under arrest for failing to comply
The cop caught up with Hamil and ordered her out of the car at gunpoint
He deployed his Taser after Hamil put up a fight and allegedly kicked him

Hamil explained her actions by telling the cop, 'I'm a country girl'
A routine traffic stop in Oklahoma last week led to a 65-year-old woman allegedly kicking a police officer in the groin, getting hit with a stun gun and being hauled off to jail in handcuffs over an $80 ticket.

The wild confrontation involving the feisty motorist, Debra Hamil, occurred in Cashion and was captured on the responding officer's body camera.

The video, obtained by KOCO, begins with the officer asking Hamil to sign the ticket for a faulty taillight, but the woman instead launches into an argument with the cop.

'So you don’t even give a warning for that?' she demands.

The officer reminds her that Hamil has been driving with the broken taillight for the last six months.

      'I'm truthful,' she protests.

Hamil later tells the officer she won't sign the ticket, explaining to him, 'I don’t think that I deserve to pay $80 for something that is fixable and I can fix it.'

Not pleased with Hamil's defiant response, the officer orders her out of the vehicle and informs her that she is under arrest.

'No, I'm not,' the self-assured grandmother calmly tells the officer before locking her door. 'You be fair with me and I'll be fair with you.'

The officer tells her several more times that Hamil is under arrest, but she refuses to accept it, yelling at the cop through her partially open window: 'you are full of s*** because you are placing me under no f***ing arrest.'

The officer warns Hamil not to drive away, at which point the woman changes her stance and grudgingly agrees to sign the ticket.

'Step out, we're beyond that,' the officer tells the woman.

Instead of complying, Hamil steps on the gas and speeds off, leading the officer on a brief chase.

A short time later, Hamil pulled into a parking lot, where the officer caught up with her and once again ordered her to get out of the car, this time while training his gun on her.

The cop eventually deployed his Taser against the 65-year-old motorist, after which she was handcuffed and arrested

The situation took a violent turn when the officer opened the driver’s door and yanked the 65-year-old out of the vehicle, hurling her to the ground.

The video shows the cop struggling to draw the woman's hands behind her back so he that he could place handcuffs on her.

'Leave me alone!' Hamil shrieks while lying face down on the ground and continuing to put up a fight.

Hamil then rolled over and allegedly kicked the officer in the groin, prompting him to deploy his Taser against her.

Amid Hamil's howls of pain and wailing sirens, the officer finally managed to restrain her.

'Do you realize you just got yourself in a whole lot more trouble?' he asks the woman lying handcuffed in the dirt.

Hamil refused an ambulance, but officials said they took her to an emergency room to be checked out anyway.

Sitting later in the back of a patrol car, a visibly peeved Hamil scolded the cop for tasering her.

The officer reminded her that she would not comply with his commands and that she tried to kick him.

'Yeah, I tried to kick you because I'm a country girl,' Hamil shot back.

Hamil was charged with felony assaulting a police officer and misdemeanor resisting arrest.

No, you tried to kick the cop because you're stupid. Assuming all country folks are as stupid as you are is just another mistake, lady.

I guess if you are going to drive impaired at 3:30 in the morning, you might as well crash into the gate of the local jail to make it easy for the police
to come out and arrest you.

IRVINE (CBSLA) — Authorities say a 19-year-old woman was driving under the influence when she crashed her SUV into the front gate of a county jail facility in Irvine.

The crash happened at 3:30 a.m. at the James A. Musick facility

The impact of the crash took out the jail’s front gate, which was left lying across the entrance road to the facility.

The bronze Range Rover also fared badly in the crash. The SUV was left straddling a low cinderblock wall with all four wheels hanging, its front bumper torn off and the engine compartment heavily damaged.

      No injuries were immediately reported.

“We are grateful no OCSD personnel were injured in this collision,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said in a tweet. “While this damage can be fixed, we know that’s not always the case with DUI collisions. Losing a loved one or friend is irreparable. Please always designate a driver or coordinate a drive.”

The woman, whose name was not released, was booked on suspicion of DUI.
