Interesting ad placement from Tapatalk on this thread. I can’t say I’ve been searching for motorcycles (especially KTMs) recently.

From the one picture that shows the marks on the pavement, you can see right where it went from low siding to high siding because the marks stop and then start again when it landed on the other side. Were you still on the bike at that point or did you slide away before it flipped?

Glad you're okay, could have been so much worse.....

Yup, except the transition from low/high happened earlier. The break in the foreground marks are bounces.

      1. Down on (low) left side - heading toward shoulder.
      2. Tires meet road - pull bike back toward lane
      3. Tires dig in - highside. This is where I make my exit.
      4. Bounce and slide, somehow getting the top of the windscreen and turned the bike 180* facing the shoulder
      5. Slide to a stop on it's right side.

Here is where both my tires found traction (you can see the rear tire mark in the above photo.)

Yes, could have been a lot worse.

Actually thought of that while looking through those photos the other day. Lucky I didn't get a time penalty.

Damn man, this sucks, hope you're feeling better and the recovery is fast.

On a different note, if they total it, any thoughts on which bike to get next?

Ew. When I was clipped I low sided but my fat ass anchored me to terra firmer quicker than the shiny bits of my bike and it skittered along ahead of me at a faster past. I remember, sliding along, watching it grind down, throwing sparks, and all I could think of was hope that's just the peg and bar

My cheap little trumpet was totaled, so I bought it back and still ride it. Making a Harley pretty again would cost more than I'd be willing to part with

Nothing against Goldwings but I don't think he's looking for a Prius version of a bike.

That teal Goldwing looks like it has a sidecar, you won't have to worry about lowside or highside with that!

Got an estimate from the adjuster on Tuesday for a surprisingly low (and specific) $6607.22. He said he would let me know once the dealership has put in their estimate.

      Have not heard back.

Is that work being performed at a dealership? I'd want to see a list of what they are replacing along with specifics like if you had custom grips, make sure they are replacing with the same custom grips, not re-pop ones... also, go back to the bike and go over it yourself outside in the sunlight and look for things they might have missed...
