I have no idea what you were saying in that post, couldn't decipher it. So I'll just assume you were making fun of me (even though it wasn't addressed to me).

So what? It's a Golf, not a dragster. If I really wanted to go sub-13 seconds in a straight line, any flavor of Golf would be literally the last thing I would consider. And if I were buying new right now, I'd want to retain that nice 6/72 warranty, which would be gone in a puff of tire smoke if the car gets tuned. So I wouldn't care if the car were slower with a manual - for me, and many others, rowing my own is more important than straight-line speed. Many others share your perspective. To each his own.

I'm fine with that. My car was modified within 2 months of my buying it. To me, it feels more natural now than it ever has, like this is where it was supposed to be all along. Most other cars feel like Frankenstein's monsters when you modify them, but the Golf R doesn't. Sure, it will kill me if I get too careless throttle happy, but that's good. What's a car without a little danger?

I have enough fun with the DSG to not miss rowing.
