Saw it last night. Enjoyed the movie. Started googling the cars in the movie (Sharon Tate/Polanski drive an MG TD and an 911. Brad Pitt drives a subaru engined kharman ghia.

Worth it for the cars and margot robbie.

      Discuss.

Even the less flashy cars were rooted in a specific attention to detail. Did you see the Ford Galaxie driven by Manson family follower Tex Watson in the film? Yeah, they found that car too.

“That’s an actual replica of the real car they used to do the actual murders,” Butcher said. “I found the real car in a guy’s private collection. The guy wanted to rent it to us to use in the film. But I had a meeting with Quentin, and we talked about it and thought that would be creepy to have the real car on set.”

Love Tarantino films and his vehicle choices

Have tickets to see it this weekend, genuinely been looking forward to it since the trailer (and driving past the filming locations out here in LA).

      What?

Such swaps didn't exist in 1969. Did they at least use "VW" engine sounds?

      Fun fact

Tarantino's own car was used in Pulp Fiction and stolen from in front of his house. It was missing for 17 years before randomly turning up

I thought every car guy knew that. It was the 1964 Malibu convertible driven by Vincent Vega.

Amazing movie. Nostalgic for me as growing up in So Cal in the late 70s - early 80s, most of what was visualized in the movie was still commonplace. Cars, landmarks, etc. KFC bucket signage, Union 76 ball, the neon signed Taco Bell to name a few.

This movie was probably the most frustrating one I've seen in years. It was beautifully shot, but the payoff at the end was so unbelievably predictable. And there were several editing errors that were so obvious I'm still wondering if they were on purpose.
But leo and brad are both amazing. And margot is just mesmerizing, as usual. She wasn't used enough. I'd pay to watch her read insurance policies.

Had never seen Sabrina, 1954. Watched it a few months ago. Pretty neat Nash-Healey in it.

It was so boring apart from the ending. It only appeals to old guys who like cowboy movies.

Apparently the original cut was 4 hours and that's how he's going to release it on bluray. At least that's what a friend told me. You think you're bored now? Wait for the bluray!

I saw the movie today. It probably had an air-cooled Porsche swap. It didn't sound like a Subie.

It was funny to see The Bruin Westwood featured in the film, and this movie is actually playing there.
