      Hardtop is nice to get.
Looks like the convertible top is completely gone.
      Really nice body though.
Mods look restrained and driving-focused -- steering wheel, exhaust, seats, wheels/tires
There's so much tire on it that I'd ask if it has coilovers. Those might rub with the stock travel/squish.
Idle rpm is almost dead on.
      Gas gauge works!

If it's got upgraded suspension, I say hit it, anybody interested. It looks like a ratty-real-good-driver.

*Ask about timing belt replacement and actually just get one for it.
      You look nice today.

I almost looked at a stock Beat in northern IL, even had the factory zebra upholstery. Was the same price, which I think is very reasonable for a (non-farm truck) JDM import that enthusiasts from my generation recognize from Grand Turismo 2.

Of course my MSM has almost 3 times the power and LHD, and I would look silly squeezing into one of those.

Oh yeah, part availability scares me on JDM imports. Probably my biggest reservation.

Daaaaamn. I love those things and that hardtop is sweet.

If I had space and it were yellow (or maybe white) I'd have to seriously contemplate spending stupid amounts of money for something I don't need.

6K is still less than many good Air-cools these days (I've been looking for Baja Bugs which made me fall down the air-cooled rabbit hole).

I'd love one, but our E30 is already too small for me at times, I can't imagine I can squeeze into this thing.

6k seems reasonable, in its current condition. The biggest head-scratcher is why there is no carpet in the car. I would just source new carpet and try to find some OEM wheels. Seems like a decent buy overall though!

The last one imported by Japanese Classics LLC was sold at $9k, and that was probably a year or so ago.

      https://www.japaneseclassics.com/veh...eat-mugen-top/

They had a Cappuccino for $13k when I was there two weeks ago, and they said that they are usually sold around the same price point. He also stated that they have been going up in value since they there is a higher demand outside of Japan now. There was actually a yellow Beat in the showroom but that was owned by one of the employees.

Yes, and my '66 would bring more than that, but that doesn't mean I have the disposable cash lying around!

I drove one of those when I was in Japan last November. It's an absolute blast to drive around the curvy roads near Osaka. The Honda Beat itself is significant enough due to being the last car approved by the late Soichiro Honda

But they are SMALL. Photos don't do justice on how tiny they are.

      I had forgotten about that!

The Beat should get massive credit for that.

Yup, which is one of the reasons I have a soft spot for the car.

The Beat I drove in Japan:

They're neat cars for sure, and the engine make noises that you wouldn't expect it to make. There's one that's come out for some autocross sessions last year. Stock, it had body roll, but ultimately stable and looked fun to drive.
(sheriff)Early, I though you said this was a drug possum.
(Early) Sure, I drug him from the ditch.
(sheriff) I wish you told me that before you sold him to me.

The "rhd" and "manual" in the thread title seems redundant

I'm not aware Honda beat was available otherwise.
