Mine does this while driving and the wiper in intermittent mode, if I turn the wiper setting to off positions or when I turn the car off, it goes down.
Seems pretty similar to mine, but you can totally set the home position on the wipers in about 5 minutes, here's Audi's guideline on positioning, 0-10mm off the edge of the glass:
Be aware that every other activation of one-touch wipe (down push of the stalk) the wiper flips the blade up a little higher, re-calibrate when it's not in this position.
Removing the wipers is piss easy, forget the wiper puller tool, just remove the cap and 13mm nut, then press down on the first hinge, wiggle it, and it pops right off like this
Then put it back in the lower position and you're good to go.
It’s a normal position but not static. As above, it changes its position so it does not rest at the same position every time. I wouldn’t mess with it
