Ah that makes sense the chrome one is just through local agents I believe.

On my phone can't seem to find the direct link but here's some hot rod thing about it:

Your Grundy price doesn't seem bad, but yeah if you can save throwing the gti on as a modern hot rod( the m in chrome) can't hurt to try.

I have my E30 with Hagerty with an agreed value of $6,500. Costs me $220/yr. This will be the first winter that I do not store it in my garage so I called to see if it would make a difference in my premium. Fortunately it won't make a difference.

I'm back and forth on shoehorning cars in the garage vs keeping one outside.
I've seen other companies, but I called them and spoke about it, Rabbit alone was $550 for the year. The rate may have been much cheaper if I had it in a locked garage but unfortunately that isn't an option where I am.

It depends on the value of the car, in my experience. Hagerty insures my bus, rabbit truck, and corrado. The bus is the only one parked inside a garage. $35k on the bus, and $5k each on the truck and corrado. It's $70 a month.

Also, for what it's worth, I've got a couple friends that run an aircooled shop in Charlotte and they say that of all the insurance companies they've had to deal with, Hagerty is by far the easiest to deal with.
