What year are we going back to? I mean you could buy a '67 Shelby GT 500 for like $5000!

Taking into consideration something I could afford to maintain and live with, I choose:

      1. 1993 Porsche 911 RS America - $54,800
      2. 1997 BMW M3 Lightweight - $47,470

The extra $2 grand will be footed by TCL through a GoFundMe account

Supra is not really my jam. Hell, I'd take the other contemporary Japanese coupes (Lexus SC, Nissan ZX, Mazda RX-7) over it. But you do you.

I'd go back to 1993 and buy one of these brand new:

And one of these that's still sitting on the showroom floor because nobody wanted them:
      98 m3, Technoviolet/anthrazit cloth, 106k and officially worthless.
      2000 323i touring, Titanium silver/grey, 160k and officially boring

I'd be happy if I got the 1969 ZL1 Camaro listed for $3K in the local paper in 1982. I'd throw the rest into buying a house.

Not sure what prices would be, but I'm sure at one point both could be had for much less than 100K.

I'll time machine back to 1973

      Carrera RS
      3.0 CSL

I'd have a lot of money left over if I bought them in 1973 dollars.

I would go back to the late 60s and pick up a 250 GTO for $8K and then go back to July 2019 and spend the remaining $92K on something really fancy.

I'd go back to 1970 and buy these three:

I'd would go back to 1968 and buy three of these for $17k each:

      Then buy 3 Ferrari 250 GTOs for $18k a piece in 1962:

      I'd turn $85k into $100 million+.

If we're just going for investment opportunities, I'd go back to 1904 and commission Rolls-Royce to make 200 10HP Two-Seaters at around $500 a piece. Then resell them at $8 million a piece today. That's a nice $1.6 billion. Of course, values would go down with that many in production and for sale at the same time.

It would be easier to go with your suggestion of the 250GTO. Prices bottomed in 1969, when they were about 7 years old at $2,500 a piece. You could theoretically buy all 36 GTO's produced for that $100k. Now they're valued anywhere from $30-70 million a piece, so that would also yield about $1.5 billion.
